Re: [Dx4win] SEARCH by DATE

2008-07-15 Thread Noel Zeibari

Hi Larry,

I had the File Preferences QSO Searching QSO date = RANGE
in my Preferences. The problem was as Jim AD1C answered on 7/13/08,
That I did not migrate my preferences from 7.03 - 7.04 and that solved the
problem.

You can tell DX4WIN to search by a range of dates:

Hi all,

In ver.703 when I used to click on Search by date, I would enter the Start
Date 07-12-2008 hit enter, a window drops down,
Get Date Range and I would write End Date 07-13-2008 hit enter, and then
in window section click on Log book and I would see the entire contest log
for that period.
Now, in ver.704 I can't do that. Is there another way of accomplishing the
same?

Walt,
That's why I use 2 Rig files for my IC7800
One with 500Hz for cw-fsk and 2.2Khz for SSB
And the other with 250Hz for cw fsk and 1.8Khz for SSB

I change the standard 500Hz quickly to the 250Hz version if needed
In my preferences.

Guy,

Thank you for the reply and the helpful information. It's unfortunate
that one can't change the filter setting per mode.

Keep up the good work on informing the community with your wisdom
of DX4Win. I learned a lot from your posts.

Walt,

Notes can be added if you edit the rigfile in the database
But if you don't know how to do it be carefull.

The CW filter setting can be changed with a text editor
Open your rigfile with textpad or similar program
The number before FD is used for CW
BUT this also changes the SSB-RTTY filter settings

CW
1 = 1.2 Khz
2 = 500 hz
3 = 250 hz

This is the command
[RC-Set Mode]
CSTR=060002FD

Hey all,

I was wondering what the meaning of some of the parameters
are that make up the rig files, most specifically for the IC-756 Pro III.
Some of them are quite self-explanatory, it's the others that puzzle me.

Here's my brief list:

1) NOTES=Selects narrow filter for CW/SSB. How is this done, i.e.
what command is sent to the rig and how does that work?

Personally, I'd like the rig to go to the Wide CW Filter. How and where
do I change this in the rig file or how do I send a CI-V command to
accomplish same?

2) RMUL= 1.00E+
and WMUL= 1.00E+
What are these multipliers?

3) RITSCL= 1.00E+
Hmmm, what does this do?

I have access to the CI-V command set, but have never tried sending commands
to the radio, any suggestions?

[Dx4win] Iomega Zip 100P2

2006-12-05 Thread Noel Zeibari
Hello,

Few weeks ago my computer crashed and with it lost the Iomega program.
Iomega does not support the zip 100p2 parallel port drive any more. I am stuck
with
about two dozen zip100 discs and would like to transfer some files back into
the
computer.
Could some one be kind enough to e-mail me the zipped program, I still have the
activation key and registration # and hope that will solve my dilemma.

Has anyone used my DXCC.EXE program (to check your DX4WIN DXCC credits against

version 5 or 6?

I want to know what prefix mismatches were reported, so I can fix them in the
DXCC.EXE program.

A while back there was a post from someone who was having trouble launching
RTTY
from within DX4WIN. I'm not sure that question was ever answered, but I seem
to
remember the individual said that the MMTTY control panel would appear then
disappear after about 10 seconds or so.

I think I have the solution for this problem. I also ran into this same
problem
with a user of my software who has a Win2K machine. The problem was the users
Firewall, Zone Alarm in this case.

The method used to launch MMTTY is called the remote mode and is launched via a
Windows API called CreateProcess. Zone Alarm and other firewalls along with
some
Anti-Virus software have an option to prevent these types of calls unless the
user
specifically allows the program to do so.

If you are experiencing this problem, I recommend you shutdown all firewalls
including the Windows firewall and your anti-virus software. Once you get
MMTTY
running you can experiment to discoverer which program is causing the problem
then
enable the option to allow these calls. Since I am not a Zone Alarm user, I do
not know the exact place to enable this function, but it is clearly defined in
the
users help manual.

Kostas, does this happen when the ADIF is first imported into an empty log?

What option did you chose for existing QSOs:

 - stop
 - replace
 - ignore

I tried importing my CQWW VHF log into an empty DX4WIN log and could not
duplicate the problem.

I import an adif file just downloaded from lotw in my log with the last
choice to confirm lotw qsls.
After that i import an adif from writelog with my 6m qsos (i use writelog to
manage the pileup on 6m when the band is open). Then the dx4win closes
without to import the adif file.

[Dx4win] Re: Upgrade Problems

2004-05-23 Thread Noel Zeibari
Hi All,

Sorry guys for not responding sooner, but I am still struggling to pull
my self out of the whirlpool. Dave G3NKC, Wendell W5FL, Ron KA3BZS and
Jim AD1C, I have tried all your Suggestions to no avail. DX4W603 is in
demo mode so is DX4W503, I guess my ignorance screwed things up, I am so
dizzy switching save files around.

Jim, if only I can get back my Ver 503 out of demo mode, because I see
all my 18,643 qso's are in there with verified qsls sent and received, I
cannot add qso to it, because a menu pops up saying it's not registered.
My son did all the downloads and upgrades since Ver 407, 501, 502 and
503, he lives pretty far from me and busy with his family.

Here is the twist, if I open the BACKUP folder in 503 and click on the
DX4Win icon, the program starts with momentarily flashing the demo logo
and then my call sign is installed but with 8,348 fewer qso's and am
able to enter qso's normally.

All the old versions from 407 up to 503 reside in D:\ drive, and they
too flash the demo sign and then install my registered call sign.

I would appreciate all the help to get me out of this problem.
I can't even export from C:\program files\dx4win503 to D:\program files
  \dx4win503
