Re: [Dx4win] KENWOOD TS570S

2011-06-27 Thread Eric Lowell
I am not familiar with Microham. Different brands of USB adaptors will give
different results. FWIW, I have a Belkin model that has worked in all
applications. A search of the archives might turn up something, I seem to
recall
this issue having been around before.

Re: [Dx4win] KENWOOD TS570S

2011-06-27 Thread Andy P Hewitt
Eric,

Thank you for the reply. However - I forgot the reason why I am using a
MicroHam usb interface - my PC does not have a serial port connector only
USB! I have been struggling with this problem for a long time. It connects
and then drops out after some short time. The drop out time is anything
between 10 seconds and ten minutes or maybe more.

Thanks anyway.

Suspect the USB adaptor. I ran a TS570 with 6m for several years with a
serial cable.

Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN - Kenwood TS570S Parameters (Repost)

2011-02-13 Thread Andy P Hewitt
Romas,
I thank you for your advice but it does not work for me. For some reason
adding IF; causes DX4Win to delete the selection of the TS950 from the
Radio1. Radio2 (the TS570S) remains the same and loses communication with
the radio after a few seconds, just as it did before.

I have solved such problem in my DX4WIN ver.4.07 in this way:

File - Databases - Radios - Kenwood 570 - Menu Values:
insert in Command preamble box "IF;" , without quotation marks
and save changes.

"IF" is a Kenwood command "Reads status of the transceiver"

Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN - Kenwood TS570S Parameters (Repost)

2011-02-13 Thread Andy P Hewitt
Bill,
I also have a TS570S (bought in the US) and get the same results, more or
less. In my case the radio control drops out after a variable time delay,
which can be anything from 10 seconds or so to a couple of hours. I get the
same messages as you. I am also using DX4Win 8.04 but the same problem has
always existed with various earlier iterations of the program. I have had
the rig for about ten years and have always used DX4W. I also have a
TS950SDX which works FB, and when I have raised this questions previously I
have been advised that if the prog works with one it should work with the
other.

My PC is a Dell Dimension E520 desk top, running Windows XP Home SP3, my
settings in Preferences are the same as yours, except that I am using 4800
baud. I have tried various speeds with any effect. I am using a MicroHam
DB9K CAT interface with the PC. After trying to resolve this problem without
success I decided to just live with it. I have found that switching the 570S
off and back on again reconnects the CAT.

If you get any replies that provide a solution I would be very pleased to
know.
