[e-gold-list] Re: C2It vs Paypal

2002-02-22 Thread shupperd1

Anybody has tried C2It and would like to make the comparison
 with Paypal.

 Claude Cormier
 Ormetal Inc.

We used c2it for about 9 months, we setup 3 accounts with them, and verified
all our customers. They were very good to work with, but about 3 weeks ago
they decided they didnt want to deal with any Market Makers anymore due to
fraud. They closed all 3 of our accounts, but unlike paypal they are
regulated and they promptly got all of our non-pending funds to us.

I'm not quite sure I understand. They returned all your non-pending
funds. What about your pending funds? I'm a little clear on what
non-pending vs. pending means, and I'm wondering if you eventually got ALL
of your money back, or did you ultimately take a loss?

No the pending funds were returned to the customers that sent the funds.
The bad part was the customers actually had to be notified by me, and they
had to cancel the transaction to get the funds back in their accounts. This
was bad because I no longer had access to my c2it account to see the pending
transactions. I took no losses, I honestly dont think C2it would take any
funds from anyone purposely like paypal did. We are dabbling with
www.anypay.com

Oh yeah, that's right -- transactions are pending until you pick them
up.

Yes, you were in a difficult spot there not even being able to access
your account to see the pending transactions. I guess these online
payment systems that use credit cards are always going to end up
being antagonistic to gold market makers, simply because fraud will
always arise as an issue. That's because the path from Credit Card
= Gold goes UPWARD on the May Scale of monetary hardness, from soft
money to hard money. If we could all just pull ourselves out of the
muck and STAY in the realm of hard money, we wouldn't have this
constant irritation and inefficiency.

Thanks for the reminder about AnyPay. I had completely forgotten
about that. I'll look into it in more detail.

James:

What makes you think you won't have the same problem with AnyPay? If there
are credit cards and high volumes involved, there WILL be frozen accounts
with any system.

UNLESS ... There's a way in AnyPay to accept ONLY electronic funds
transfers from linked bank accounts. In other words, verify that the funds
you received via AnyPay did NOT come from a credit card, but only as an EFT.

Is this possible with AnyPay?
