[e-gold-tech] Re: Payment notices

2001-12-17 Thread Michael Moore

This is an idea for an Improving Feature.

Cause: Just had a (really quick) money transfer completed with
gold-today.com,
and he forwarded the e-gold system's payment notification. I've noticed
more
people doing this. Of course, such notices cannot be seen as proof of
payment...

Not that I am a proponent of Paypal nor am I a 'Techie' but I see that
paypal instantly notifies you when a deposit has been paid into your paypal
account.

Knowing that this is automatic and that a script (don't laugh at me
techies...I am wise in other matters) is possible to do the same with
e-gold.

How about when a payment is made to an e-gold accountthe holder gets an
email to indicate so?

What I'm proposing is to make it simple for a market maker like yourself to
submit a _proof_ of payment without any more effort than you currently put
into it -- you just grab the payment notice from the website and, for those
who care, it contains a solid proof of the payment.

The paying party would just copy+paste the following off the website, only
signed with e-gold's PGP key rather than mine:
snip

Well if that were possible that would be great, It would cut down the work
load for sure
and provide an authenticated verification of payment.

I don't know what would be involved technically to set this up.
I could send MY PGP Key when I send a verification of payment to a client
of course but I have found that cumbersome and most don't want it anyway.
Market Makers are not in the business of not forfilling their obligations or
they would not be in business for long. They can always check their account
history.

Ask the clients. Is there a need for such a facility?

[e-gold-tech] Re:spend scripts

2002-05-22 Thread Michael Moore

We have just put on the spend feature on the new currencyregistry.com site.

Spends can be done for advertising from the advertising rates page.

However there appears to be a bug in that although the spend is made (I and
a customer both got thesame result) when you select to continue after the
spend a page comes up which tell you the spend is not complete and timed
out.

Yet the spend did go through as evidenced by the history record and also the
autoresponse robot advising the spend details.

Any ideas... Is a temporary bug with the e-gold merchant spend feature or
have we uploaded the codes incorrectly to the site. (My son - the wizard at
this adssures me he simply uiploaded the code as given from the e-gold site)
