Re: [Elecraft] Email DANGEROUS EMAIL
All, I was the recipient of such an email scam a few weeks back. Fortunately, it was a good friend that was hacked, so I asked him to call me on the phone where I could hear his voice and he could answer a few questions that only he and I know the proper answers to. I did not receive a phone call. In other words, be careful when responding to requests such as those - practice safe computing. Be suspicious if the "sender" does not initially make a request, but simply asks a question like "do you use Amazon". Medicare does not call subscribers, and the same for the IRS - those are scam calls, do not give them any information. 73, Don W3FPR On 2/14/2023 5:57 PM, Fred Jensen wrote: Ummm ... be careful to not overplay this. Both 1 and 2 are the same, they connect you to the scam boiler room where you will be cajoled into coughing up your CC #. Just hang up. And, just a heads up: The IRS does not accept gift cards for the back taxes you don't actually owe. Nor is the Sheriff going to appear in your driveway in 20 minutes or the electric company going to turn off your electricity in half an hour if you don't send the gift card #'s. Remember the International "J" signal JHU: "Just Hang Up." 73, Fred ["Skip"] K6DGW Sparks NV DM09dn Washoe County Gwen Patton wrote on 2/14/2023 2:30 PM: Those "do you order from Amazon?" emails are part of a scam to get you to purchase gift cards. Re: [Elecraft] K3 no power out
A couple days ago I encountered that kind of issue: I had the K3 in DATA mode "looking at the psk-31 mode" and went to shift back to USB, but the XMIT/TUNE button yielded no output. Checked thru the list you provided and checked that I was in ANT1 output as I have run xvtr mode in the past. No output into my KXPA100/KXAT100; no input to re-tune the ATU...huh? Manually keying PTT switched the KXPA100 into tx. So finally, I recycle the power button on the K3 and it resumed normal operation (TUNE worked; SSB worked, ta-da). I have noted that changing bands with the K3/KXPA100 combo the ATU doesn't always recognize the freq shift (until I recycle power on the KXPA100). I'm guessing that's because there is no control line from the K3 to the amp like what is used with the KX3 (which is really nice when mobile and amp is under the back seat). Anyway sometimes recycling power works! 73, Ed - KL7UW Josep, Please check the obvious things: 1) Is 'test mode' on? 2) Is the power level turned to zero? 3) Is the VOX on (for CW)? 4) Are you using the right antenna selection? 5) Is your key plugged in/wiring OK? I know some of this is really basic, but sometimes in the heat of battle, something gets overlooked. 73, -- Dave, N8SBE __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com

Re: [Elecraft] K3: Headphone Jack hardware?
I leave headphones and a microphone plugged into the front panel jacks and a headset plugged into the rear jacks. I turn the speakers on and off with the macro: MN097;UP;MN255; No wear and tear on the jacks. I have macros set up in my K-Pod, DXLab's Commander module, and VA2FSQ's Win4K3Suite, though only one would be sufficient!
