I'm a newer user but I recall that is was not to be done through any other
device if I recall rightly Elecraft or others.

Bill,

I think what he learned is that one should not attempt to do a firmware
load through the Microham Router.

[Elecraft] {K3} New Upload of MCU stuck

2012-11-20 Thread Ham Radio
I was uploading my newly arrived, upgraded and fixed K3 serial 1526 from the
factory to the latest version and it froze with the MCU LD displayed and the K3
utility program asking to be closed. I was doing the upgrade of the MCU
through a virtual port set up by Microham uRouter program and something did not
go correctly. I need some help with this. I unplugged it and it doing the
same thing. The transmit light is flashing and the MCU LD is displaying. I
just received the K3 today after a month and I would like to get it working
again.

I used a serial to serial connector after removing all connectors and
followed the procedure cited in the help portion under troubleshooting and
voila the firmware uploaded and alles en ordnung.

Hope this helps. I was a bit excited when I was able to get the answer by
reading cady's manual and I wanted to give Fred some props for his very
