Antenna - Linear loaded end fed wire consisting of 14 feet of 4-wire computer ribbon cable with outside two wires shorted at one end and a fishing snap swivel tied to the two middle wires. On the other end banana plugs installed on outside two wires. Two small velcro straps to secure the wire to the pole. Trailing Counterpoise - 29 feet of #26 AWG teflon coated silver plated wire with a banana jack on one end. See http://wa5znu.org/log/2005/03/kx1-bag.html I got most of the ideas from a presentation by Wayne N6KR. Altogether it is smaller than the old Standard HT I have around somewhere. Not pictured are my Pac-12 which I often use, or (if I need a portable tree) a Cabelas 14ft pole or an SD-20 (depends on walking or driving).
