Re: [Elecraft] PX3 kit tips?
Hi folks, My PX3 is up and running! The manual was a delight to follow, and everything went together swimmingly. Thanks for all the tips -- I had everything small neatly laid out in an egg carton, and assembling this was probably the most peaceful hour of my day. Here is a lousy phone picture of the finished product: https://photos.app.goo.gl/NsXTLNo2zZPcuM4p9 One question: I performed the sideband nulling procedure, and found that my ideal phase values were similar to the factory ones, but that my ideal amplitude values were consistently about 25 lower than the factory ones. Is this indicative of an issue with my equipment, build, or calibration? Or is it within the expected range of calibration values? Just follow the instructions.? You will need a #1 Phillips screwdriver. Are you sure that's Phillips? I use Pozidriv (PZ0) for Elecraft screws and find that is a much better fit. (Either will work, but if you have one of those 100+ screw sets and have the choice - consider PZ over PH screwdrivers for electronics) Yours for screws that are not stripped, Geert Jan __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
Re: [Elecraft] PX3 kit tips?
Do a complete inventory of all parts before you begin. It isn’t unusual for a small piece or two to go astray. Simply call Elecraft and they’ll send it to you. Though it may be a little slower than in the past with the challenges of late. Most important- have fun! Re: [Elecraft] PX3 kit tips?
Remember to take it slow and easy. Read each instruction and make sure you understand it. Then do it, check it off on the assembly manual, and go to the next one. It is generally a good idea to inventory the parts so you understand which screw goes where. The small parts can be organized in an egg carton or a ice cube tray. Try to get into the zen of it. Re: [Elecraft] PX3 kit tips?
Nothing to it, you will be done in no time. The right size screwdriver helps. Also try not to get fingerprints on the screen side of the lens. Taking the lens off to clean them is a bit annoying.
