Hi Guy,

Yup - that's it. Just an option to switch from a solid tone to a series of
40wpm dots whenever you push the tune button.

This would be an option to have the TUNE hold function send
interrupted 40 wpm dots instead of a solid tone? I'd use it all the
time. Personally I don't normally need TUNE except to tune an amp
behind the K3.

All my amps are tubes. I'm waiting for a ham band 1500 watt CCS
transistor amp with a built-in auto-tuner before I ditch my 3CX1200s
and 3-1000Z's. So I'd be using a pulser TUNE for a long time
methinks.

I think you guys are all wet.

I've been listening to the phone bands lately for fun, and I thought
you tuned an SSB amp by whistling into it, or saying a really slow and
loud, "HELLO", or saying slowly and loudly, "HELLO RADIO" into the
microphone. I think identifying your station is optional.

I guess I've been on CW too long ;o)

Happy New Year, and good luck to you and you families in the coming

Your are absolutely right Jim and that is the way I tune my amp using the
Vibroplex paddle sending dots at 40 wpm and using the PEP wattmeter of my
PalStar antenna tuner to get maximun ouput Even when I am on SSB I do that
as well after enabled the feature that I can send morse with the mode switch

No need to add any "pulser" in the firmware.

Hmmm.  I think the software "feature" you want is already in the K3.
Use, the CW mode, adjust the keyer to 30 WPM or so, and you have a 50%
duty cycle pulser - just hold down the "dot" paddle.  If  you want a
lower duty cycle, simply tweak the "weight" option until you get what
you want.   If you have a monitor scope, or a general purpose scope that
covers up to 30 MHz or so, you can use it to measure the on-off ratio.

Interesting that a new article on eHam suggests programming one of the CW
memories with a series of dits. You would have to be in CW mode for it to
work.
