Re: Wanted EMI consultant for PCB design

2008-11-12 Thread Kevin Keegan
Dear Mr. Balasubramanian,

I think you have a large task ahead of you, especially as it is only a two
layer board.
Also think the 6db margin is a little harsh. A 3 db would be enough I'm sure.

Anyway I would be willing to review your schematic and board layout and make
recommendations if required. I charge $750 U.S D. a day. I'm sure this would
only take
about 1 day to review. I need a deposit of 50% to proceed. I could arrange for
testing
here in Canada to verify the design, this of course would cost more money.

Please let me know if you wish to proceed.

No, you will need a test report showing compliance with Industry Canada

Re: need for cUL/CSA approvals on 48VDC electrical distribution equipment

2008-06-06 Thread Kevin Keegan
Hi Paul,

I'm not sure why you are saying UL is not valid in Canada. They are an NRTL and

therefore recognized. I agree a cUL would be better if there is a specific
requirement
difference for Canada.

Hi Joe,

I believe the device could fall under Medical but also would need CSO3 Approval

Can anyone point me to a source of information on Japan certifications? If
there is no readily available source of information, can you send me a quick
list of the steps for certification in Japan? I am relatively familiar with
MITI but have never certified a product for Japan.

I have a product that is on the line between being a switch located in a
