No floating point allowed in the fast base-thread, Marius. Move that addf
to the servo-thread.

I connected my spindle cmd signal to an abs component. When I set the
speed for any output positive or negative, I get absolutely no output.
Nor does any of the polarity indicators function.
The setup uses a 5i25 with a 7i76 so I had to load EMCMOT with the base
thread enabled as the abs component takes a float for input and output.
Any ideas?

Its loaded, but, it's never going to work without being tied to a thread.

Yes I realized the error of my ways. I used the abs_s32 first and that
could run in the base thread. When I changed to abs I did not change to
servo thread.

Isn't there a abs pin already integrated into the spindle cmd so you don't have
to use the abs component now?

The problem was that I used the wrong thread when I reverted from

This doesn't make sense.
abs can't run in an integer-only base thread, nor is there any reason to do so.
remove the base thread and addf the component to the servo thread.

The hal component's function is what does the work of that component, if
you don't add it to a thread it won't do anything, as you just observed.

What error do you get when you try to addf it?

Yes blonde moment there. The servo thread is floating point not
base-thread. :( I first used abs_s32 and then changed to abs without
changing the thread.
