I sent my 5i25 and 7i76 into Mesa to look at. Mesa boards may be more expensive than stuff from China, but you won’t get help from China like you do from Peter. Peter, Now the jumpers are as follows: 5i25 W1-Down, W2-Up, W3-Up, W4-Up, and W5-Up 7i76 W1-Left, W2-Left, W3-Left, W4-Left, W5-Left and W6-Left and the separate 5V supply is disconnected. Actually rather than a pncconf error, this sounds more like the 7I76's I/O section is not found so no 7i76 pins will be present in hal Peter Wallace Mesa Electronics -- Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot ___ Emc-users mailing list Emc-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users

If the config now loads, and you are using Axis, look in Machine->Show HAL Configuration. Or, in any GUI, open a terminal with LinuxCNC running and say "halcmd show pin" (Copy and paste that to a text file for future reference, or pipe the command in to a text file if you prefer) -- atp "A motorcycle is a bicycle with a pandemonium attachment and is designed for the especial use of mechanical geniuses, daredevils and lunatics." — George Fitch, Atlanta Constitution Newspaper, 1916 -- Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot ___ Emc-users mailing list Emc-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
Re: [Emc-users] pncconf error under 2.7.14
Thanks Andy, I have power to the board and field io. Both of the orange LEDs are on. I tried your suggestion. As I suspected it was not just the one error. I commented that first line out. The result was then that hm2_5i25.0.7i76.0.0.spinout-maxlim was missing. So I commented that out and then hm2_5i25.0.7i76.0.0.spinout-scalemax was missing. So I commented out that line and then hm2_5i25.0.7i76.0.0.spinout was missing. So I commented that out and then hm2_5i25.0.7i76.0.0.spinena was missing. So I commented that out and then hm2_5i25.0.7i76.0.0.spindir was missing. So I commented that out. So the lines were: setp hm2_5i25.0.7i76.0.0.spinout-minlim [SPINDLE_9]OUTPUT_MIN_LIMIT setp hm2_5i25.0.7i76.0.0.spinout-maxlim [SPINDLE_9]OUTPUT_MAX_LIMIT setp hm2_5i25.0.7i76.0.0.spinout-scalemax[SPINDLE_9]OUTPUT_SCALE net spindle-output => hm2_5i25.0.7i76.0.0.spinout net spindle-enable => hm2_5i25.0.7i76.0.0.spinena net spindle-ccw => hm2_5i25.0.7i76.0.0.spindir I think the long and short is that something is broken in pncconf. So I need to know what the pins are really supposed to be and it would be nice if pncconf got fixed so that I wouldn’t have to hand edit the file every time I run pncconf on it. Don’t get me wrong Chris has done a great job on pncconf so far and this is a relatively small problem in the grand scope of things. So for now, how do I figure out what the pin names should be? Maybe re-select that option and comment out the minlim line, it will default to zero anyway. I forgot to add that I was building a lathe configuration, in case it is just a bug in that area.
