Off the top of my head:

and suggestion on alternative? (i made them shrink to indicate iconification).

tbh my point of polishing is to ensure that if i begin on an elm theme that i
dont base it off something that is bad. ... tasks is not on the list of
things that matter there :) buty... do suggest a solution... because right
now.. i don't have a good one in my head, so i won't do anything until i have
one. :)

Come to think of it, that's about the only (slight) gripe that have with it.
Having said that, I realized that icons on Tasks is about all that's
left of the default theme on my screen.
 Still, it seems worth mentioning.
Thanks - great job every body!!!

I know that E mouse works differently. Maybe I didn't explained properly.

What I ment is it would be possible to allow E (somehow, with lot of black
magic) replicate it's cursors to X cursors. As in create gifs or png or
whatever X use for current E theme, and move that into an X theme.

I know, it sounds horrible and I'm not suggesting to do that, is just a quick
'n dirt hack to explain what I would like E to do =)

It would not be a replication, it would be a pale imitation. The point
raster was making is that E mouse pointers are active scripted objects,
which is very far away from being a simple set of looped static
images. Sure you could grab a static image of on E cursor at some
point during it's scripted running, but at what points do you do this
grabbing? Each scripted E cursor object is different, and can be
entirely arbitrary, making it almost impossible to automatically pick
suitable points that are useful to make a series of image grabs.

So the results are likely to be really crap, and just not worth the
effort of creating that black magic. Much better results could be done
by the theme author picking those points carefully and making their own
matching X cursor theme. Such theme authors might be making matching
GTK / QT / whatever themes as well, but I would guess that most don't.

Hu, I guess you have a very good point. I didn't knew E cursors where so
complex, I though they were just 'imitating' X behaviour.

Still, I would do just bad copies as a X theme. X/GTK/QT apps would use them as
they currently do. I just won't hurt that much to the eyes moving from a E
cursor theme to an X theme.

They won't be as cool and functional as in E, but they it won't look like you
have 2 different sets of themes which behave randomly. Did I mention that
having 2 differen't themes *really* annoys me? :D

I will make an example, so you guys don't think I'm just whinning (ok, maybe I
am =D ). I use google chrome (not chromium, but chrome). Inside the browser, I
get all X cursors, so I get ugly arrow, ugly hand-on-click, ugly type-writter,
ugly resizes. I would rather have bad E cursors copies (even if they are just
animated gif) that ugly X cursors :D

and at that point... david is right.. it's part and parcel of work to do a

They won't be as cool and functional as in E, but they it won't look like you

you have that right now... gtk and qt apps.. and fltk.. and every web
app (which all do their own custom css/look etc.) all look different. that's
life.

I will make an example, so you guys don't think I'm just whinning (ok, maybe

and thats yet another.. where crhomium uses gtk for some specific elements, but
in general re-implements al of its own widgest and drawing anyway (often with
html). the cursor is just the few things that html has yet to take over and
customize. i imaginein html6 they may allow css to specify gif/png/dom elements
for cursors and have js able to animate them et. then... then you're back to
this complaint again.

out of scrope for e17 theme polish as above. :)
