I remember when I went to test drive a Prius. The salesman couldn’t get the door open because the 12v battery was dead and the battery was under the back seat. They had to get the mechanics to break in to the vehicle. [EVDL] Tesla-3 app locks EV-jacker inside =citizen's-arrest
Now this story makes more sense because the car jacker would not necessarily know how to get out of a Tesla. Shame on the owner of the EV that couldn't get out when power died for not knowing how to get out of their own car in that situation. It just makes EVs look bad. I know Tesla's have a button that is normally used to open the door, but if power is removed you have to use a (different) manual actuator. In some of their designs it's not terribly obvious where to pull if the button doesn't work, so if somebody skipped that part of the manual they can get into trouble...
