Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Hi - Details needed for the MIS Executive Qualification
Hi Sir, Myself sundar from chennai, First i would appreciate on your brief explanation for MIS role, it is very clear to understand. i have been working as HR for past 3 Years, but my role as HR is not satisfying me. I was looking for a change where i don't interact with people much, and so i came across MIS Executive Job profile. I just need you to advice me whether this MIS Role will suit me. Pl advice I did my BSc in Biotech and then i did my MBA and got into HR (Being a HR i play a role of Joker between Orga.. and Emp.. I lack my real skill to prove myself) I m pretty good in excel and i have little analytical skill too (I believe) So i need you to advice me please Regards Sundar On Tuesday, July 26, 2011 4:28:15 PM UTC+5:30, Anand Kumar wrote: Hi, In case of MIS Executives the kind of the data sets is very rigid. The data is always in the same format. Mostly the amount of data would also be the same every day/week. The frequency of reports would be also same for them, i.e. the MIS is generated on a weekly, daily or 15 days or quarterly basis. The data is extracted from a source which is set by a business analyst beforehand and should not or is not manipulated without prior permission. Considering all this we can conclude: 1. MIS Executive is Good at Excel functions like Lookup, Vlookup and Hlookup 2. He/She has some knowledge of pivot tables and data extraction. 3. He/She can work comfortably on data sets of around 20,000 rows and 200 colums (approx) 4. He/She should have some knowledge of text manipulation functions (Concatenate, len, find, left, right etc). 5. He/She should be comfortable using combination of functions e.g. extract first name from email id in cell A1 when A1 contains anan...@gmail.com javascript: 6. He/She should be able to use logical functions 7. Should be able to use error handling functions available in MS Excel. 8. Last but not the least WILLINGNESS TO LEARN. RE: $$Excel-Macros$$ Hi, Friend I have a ? (I did not express properly in my previous mail - so let us have it right now)....
Hello Mohammed, Agree on the subject line bit.. please use a short decsriptive subject line - and best not to change the subject line if you post again, it can be more difficult for others to follow the thread. To your question: the main part How to merge the multiple macros in single program? - I understand that question. but I don't understand what your sample data that looks like payroll records has to do with it. Or what filtering the payroll data in various ways has to do with it. CALL is a VBA/macro command, as xlstime says that can execute other VBA/macro procedures. But, CALL is optional an usually not used. It is as simple as typing the name of another sub procedure as in this example, which doesn't use call: Sub Macro1234 () 'Execute Macro1 if user hits Yes button. If MsgBox(Execute Macro1?,vbYesNo)=vbYes Then Macro1 'Execute Macro2 if userr hits Yes button. If MsgBox(Execute Macro2?,vbYesNo)=vbYes Then Macro2 'Execute Macro3 if user hits Yes button. If MsgBox(Execute Macro3?,vbYesNo)=vbYes Then Macro3 'Execute Macro4 no matter what!!! Macro4 End Sub Sub Macro1 () MsgBox MACRO 1 ! End Sub Sub Macro2 () MsgBox MACRO 2! End Sub Sub Macro3 () MsgBox MACRO 3 ! End Sub Sub Macro4 () MsgBox MACRO 4 ! End Sub Hope this helps. Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Hi friends, now its clear.....
Just a thought. Are you trying to say that if there is a common word in all the lines, you need to know that word? Example I let you go Let me in Who let the dogs out To let and you need the value in your first column to be '*let*'? I'd say caramba! if that's the case And Excel_Lover, you need to add in error condition, otherwise it will error out when there is no 'cell' in the text. Check Noorain's solution where he suggested using IFERROR along with the SEARCH function. Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Hi - Details needed for the MIS Executive Qualification
Hi, In case of MIS Executives the kind of the data sets is very rigid. 5. He/She should be comfortable using combination of functions e.g. extract first name from email id in cell A1 when A1 contains anand...@gmail.com 6. He/She should be able to use logical functions 7. Should be able to use error handling functions available in MS Excel. 8. Last but not the least WILLINGNESS TO LEARN. Warm regards, Anand Kumar. -- -- Some important links for excel users: 1. Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ HI --help me
Hi Vijayajith, It depends which report having what kind of formula / function / macros you are working on. I have came across following errors so far:- 1) Excel Function errors - Can be corrected using ISError function(s) 2) VBA Macros - Can be prevented using Error handlers 3) Linking errors - if other sheets / databases are linked in your excel report. There are errors but there are solutions as well. So cheers :) Regards, DILIPandey On 7/24/11, vijayajith VA vijayajith...@gmail.com wrote: Hi, I have one questions.Usually while doing reports what are errors you will get ?
