With so many mindful goods and services for sale, it can be easy to forget
that mindfulness is a quality of being, not a piece of merchandise.

..while purists sometimes wrung their hands about its commercialization,
their lamentations were in vain. Let loose in the American marketplace, yoga
took on a life of its own. Now, she said, the same thing is happening with
mindfulness.

..Though this may result in less signal and more noise, it doesn’t mean
mindfulness can’t still be beneficial. Yoga may have changed over the years,
but plenty of authentic teachers and ashrams can still be found. The same
dynamic will most likely play out with mindfulness, too. Strange variations on
mindfulness will proliferate, while pockets of traditional teachings endure.

[FairfieldLife] Freemason Initiatic Questions, Part 2

2016-03-20 Thread yifux...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]
(as mention on pages 302-303 of Butz, "The Secret Legacy of Jesus":
Questions - entrance into first Masonic degree:

"In whom to you put your trust?"
Only accepted answer is "In God" (to answer "Jesus" would not be acceptable).

"From whence come you, and whither are you traveling?"
(the Senior Deacon answers for the candidate, "From the west, and traveling
toward the east".

"Why leave you the west and travel toward the east?"
Prescribed answer is "In search of Light" Here Butz quotes James 1:17: , where
James refers tp Gpd as the
"Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change".
Then Butz brings in John 1:9 where the Apostle calls Jesus "the true light"
Butz concludes "The questions and answers that are the first part of the
Masonic initiation exhibit Jewish Christian and gnostic theology, not
necessarily orthodox [here he means mainstream, not Eastern Orthodox] Christian
theology.
Furthermore, Buz says " I believe the main connecting link between the
Nazarenes, the Templars and Fremasonry is the Jewish Temple".

[FairfieldLife] Freemason Initiatic questions

2016-03-20 Thread yifux...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]
More will be presented on this topic later, sourced from "The Secret Legacy of
Jesus, The Judaic Teachings that Passed from James the Just to the Founding
Fathers".
Let's stop here and present some comments. This is a book written by Lutheran
Minister Jeffrey J. Butz, who is presenting a more Judaic/Gnostic variety of
Christianity (he says) originating from the Nazarenes (in Jerusalem - centered
around James the Bro. of Jesus). Unfortunately, the Romans demolished
Jerusalem in two phases and a diaspora occurred among the various Wandering
Bishops in this (some say) "true" version of Christianity as opposed to St.
Paul's invention (since Paul never met Jesus physically). Butz calls the
"true" version Jewish Christianity, which differs from Paul.
As you may know, modern Evangelical Fundamentalism is 100% Paulist (based on
Salvation through Grace, b ut based on faith.). Contrast this with Jewish
Christianity (from James), which has a Gnostic element (Gnosis - Self
knowledge)...and is thus compatible with (in the broadest sense without the
Puja), TM and other meditative practices such as Mindfulness. (one can make
this case).
OTOH, Evangelical Fundamentalism which virtually wiped out Freemasonry during
the early 19-th century in the US, is strictly a belief system that
incorporates Faith in the Substitionary Atonement of the Crucifixion of Jesus.
Evangelical Christianity is completely incompatible with TM, as we know from
MMY's attempt to introduce TM into the public school system. He should have
known better!
Butz states: "In Freemasonry, as in Jewish Christianity, deeds are more
important than any particular expression of faith. [quoting James 2:14]: "What
good is itif you say you have faith but do not have works".
To make a long story short, one (Butz, and others) can makea connecting links
thus:

James and the Nazarenes (went underground after Jerusalem was destroyed) but
was still alive at the time of the first Crusade in Jerusalem). The Crusaders
brought it back to Europe where some of the teachings of Jewish Christianity
were taken up by the Knights Templar and the Cathars.
 ...
The foregoing segued into-> Freemasons and greatly influenced the US
Founding Fathers, but Evangelical Christianity virtually wiped out the trend in
the early 19-th century.

Correct. But the point is, that Jesus has not revealed himself to his brothers
yet, just as Zaphenathpaneah had not. "you shall not see Me here again until
you have learned to cry and say blessed is He that comes in the name of the
Lord". This could not happen before certain prophesies, mostly from Daniel,
have been fulfilled. Most importantly, Jews being returned to the land of
Israel and the end of Gentile rule in Jerusalem.

    MD,
That's an interesting story of Joseph.  But, as I understand it, the orthodox
Jews believe in a "political" messiah who will give them back the kingdom and
glory that King David once wielded in the land of Judah.  That's one of the
main reasons why they can't accept Jesus Christ as the messiah.  They could not
or would not understand that Jesus, as he preached, was and is the ruler of the
kingdom within, the realm of the spirit within or the absolute consciousness.
It's also interesting that the coming of an enlightened man or the Omega man,
was stated in the writings of Teilhard Chardin, the late controversial writer
in the Roman Catholic church.  Although he did not use the vedic words siddha
or yuga cycle, some of the vedic concepts are implied in his writings.

John, there was a rabbinic teaching that Messiah would come twice. First as the

orthodox Jews don't recognize this scenario and are content to wait for the
*finished product*It is said in the Christian tradition that the Old testament
is the truth *concealed*(hidden) and the New Testament is the truth
*revealed*(fulfilled)Look at the story of Joseph. The parallels of the life of
Joseph and of Jesus tell the story.
First, Joseph is his father's favorite son, who's brothers are greatly jealous
of because of his advanced spiritual knowledge and abilities. They hate him so
much that they beat him, threw him in a pit and sold him for thirty pieces of
silver as a slave.Second, Joseph uses his knowledge and power to rise up to
become the Prime minister of Egypt, second in power only  to the god of Egypt,
the Pharaoh, who has complete trust in him. He is then known as
Zaphenathpaneah. Zaphenathpaneah is approached by his brothers, who don't
recognize him and beg for food because of famine in their land. Zaphenathpaneah
tests them by falsely accusing them and throwing them in prison. When the
brothers realize they are being punished by God for what they did to their
brother, Joseph, they confess their guilt to Zaphenathpaneah and ask for
forgiveness. Zaphenathpaneah reveals himself as their brother Joseph by showing
that he was circumcised and a Jew. Joseph then forgives them and brings the
entire family into Egypt and gives them the best land Egypt has to offer. One
person, two different identities. Joseph and Zaphenathpaneah. The story of
Joseph is the foreshadowed story of the Messiah. The suffering servant and the
Lion of Judah who sits at the right hand of the power of God.

 yfxero,
I was thinking the other day that the Judeo-Christian tradition has a hidden
idea of the yuga cycle that is mentioned in the vedic texts.  Specifically, the
story of the Fall in the Garden of Eden has seed thoughts that human beings
appeared on earth with the highest level of consciousness.  But, due to the
temptation of Satan, Adam and Eve fell from this level to the lowest level of
consciousness, which is represented by them being cast out from the Garden.  In
vedic thought, the highest level of consciousness is represented by the Satya
Yuga and the lowest level is represented by Kali Yuga.
Similarly, the Jewish tradition, particularly the writing of Isaiah, promises
the return of the messiah who will save the people from bondage.  This return
is similar to the beginning of a new cycle of Satya Yuga after completing the
Kali Yuga.  However, the orthodox Jews are still waiting for the messiah to
come, whereas the Christians believe the messiah has already come in the person
of Jesus Christ.

 MD,

I was going to say that. But that was before I got interested in TM. All
that I know is that the TM movement tried to buy one of the main universities
in Manila to become the TMO's Vedic universities. But the Roman Catholic
Church in the country made a very loud and concerted effort to stop the sale.
Ferdinand Marcos, the dictator at the time, was intimidated and obeyed the

the caves, the meditation started with a recitation of Vedic hymns, and as
everyone sank deep within, nature herself was absorbed in silence. There was
utter stillness for one solid hour, at the end of which, the meditation was

Look at the story of Joseph.
The parallels of the life of Joseph and of Jesus tell the story.

First, Joseph is his father's favorite son, who's brothers are greatly jealous
of because of his advanced spiritual knowledge and abilities. They hate him so
much that they beat him, threw him in a pit and sold him for thirty pieces of
silver as a slave.
Second, Joseph uses his knowledge and power to rise up to become the Prime
minister of Egypt, second in power only to the god of Egypt, the Pharaoh, who
has complete trust in him. He is then known as Zaphenathpaneah.
Zaphenathpaneah is approached by his brothers, who don't recognize him and
beg for food because of famine in their land. Zaphenathpaneah tests them by
falsely accusing them and throwing them in prison. When the brothers realize
they are being punished by God for what they did to their brother, Joseph, they
confess their guilt to Zaphenathpaneah and ask for forgiveness. Zaphenathpaneah
reveals himself as their brother Joseph by showing that he was circumcised and
a Jew. Joseph then forgives them and brings the entire family into Egypt and
gives them the best land Egypt has to offer.
One person, two different identities.

Well the last I heard, there were over fifty million people on food
stamps alone. If you can't afford to feed yourself, how are you going to pick
up and move to a foreign country and set up house keeping? I'm sure there are
plenty of unemployed people that would like to work but there aren't enough
jobs, although at least 11 million illegal immigrants haven't had any trouble
finding some. It might require new policies to attract manufacturing back home.
Seems to be much cheaper and economical to do business over seas and bring your
product back here to sell.

[FairfieldLife] Re: Is TM a New Religion? The Federal District Court

2016-03-20 Thread wgm4u
A steering wheel isn't a car either, (but an instrumental part of a car) it's
disingenuous to suggest TM is not Religious when it comes from the Sanatana
Dharma or eternal Religion of the Vedas. TM should be classified as a Religious
Science, clearly it's not JUST a scientific technique. Zeus has spoken!!
