I think Doug's suggestion is utterly fantastic. I envision a reigning Raja Rik who would ban various posts and posters -- quickly leading to a new Group: Banned on FFL. Its membership would soon soar well beyond FFL -- given the nature of the minds attraction for scandal. An even more popular groupd would spin off -- Baraitu leading the charge -- Banned on FFL Becasue of the CONSPIRACY Another splinter group -- FFL -- The Spraig Side modeled after the cartoon The Odd-Side. Then there would be FFL - F*ck-You -- guess which posters would thrive there. And of course there would be the FFL -- the Good, FFL -- the Bad and FFL -- the Ugly One of my favorite off-shoot groups would be Banned from FFL -- Becasue I am too Pure -- But PLEASE PLEASE Let me Play in the BIG KIDS Sandbox TOO ShivaMa would fill page after page of great stuff. I am on the other SHORE, total SELF-Referral, Oh please Maharish tell me what to do! Oh Please Rik tell me why you are persecuting me! And one probably could rent / license from Unc the constantly updated Non-Pissants list -- which I am sure UNC could figure out a way that it could be auto-added/updated to ones e-mail filters. Though possibly, many will find the Pissants filter list to be more interesting. And having a higther demand, it may have a higher rental rate. Same with Tom T.s Non-Snakes and Snakes filter lists. And Jim's I know this poster is enlightened filter list and the i know this poster is not enlightened list -- derived by that famous vedic algorithm: it takes one to know one. All these filter lists could save readers a LOT of TIME -- and shield them from LOTS of ignorance and bad vibes. A universal checklist filter would be awesome: Please check the filters you wish to apply to your search of FFL posts: Each Item having an Include or Exclude option: FF specific Spiritual Pissants Snakes Argumentative Anal ADD/ADHD Funny Insightful Long Ego-dripping Deluded Ok, lets see, this morning, along with my double latte, skim soy, no foam with cacoa nugs, i will take Spiritual by Pissants OR Snakes NOT argumentative NOT Anal NOT ADD/ADHD Insightful NOT Long NOT Ego NOT Deluded Damn, no posts come up. :) At least I have my latte. --- In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, Rick Archer [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: You forgot one: ³FFL I¹ve never felt so blissful, so Eat Shit and Die² - started by Tom Pall on 8/21/06 10:09 AM, new.morning at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I think Doug's suggestion is utterly fantastic. [FairfieldLife] Re: Finally-someone said something / Kudos to Doug Hamilton
I certainly agree with Doug that most of the messages in this forum have nothing to do with the TMO, and I think that most of what sparaig, authfriend, and some others post is total drivel. However, I am against censorship of these people in the forum. [The other extreme to what is happening here can be seen in Fairfield Community Kiosk, where everything must go through Sharalyn Harris (who used to post to this group), and then she decides if it should be posted or not. Of course, no self-respecting adult would go along with this, so the result is that 95% of the posts on the group are by her; her posts are almost all announcements freely available in many other places and the remaining 5% of postings are announcements from others, and there is no discussion of any kind. ] My solution (i.e. what I do) is to look at the posts on the FFL web page, and simply decide by looking at the title or author of the posts if I want to check them out. Usually, this will result in me ignoring about 90% of the posts, but it is not a big deal. I can see why you would like me to ban or control these people, but aside from the fact that I don¹t have the time to play policeman here, I also feel that imposing control on the group would be presumptuous. It would presume that my perspective is more objective than it probably is. It would be like meddling with the freedom of speech provision in the US Constitution.
