I seriously think, since Bevan et al had the nerve to come up with
that cover story about the pundits' mamas not wanting them to travel
(when in fact the pundits could not get visas because of poverty, a
belated recognition that could easily have been avoided by trying to
get a few visas before building the trailer park), that a
transitional story is being floated about 200 pundits coming to Vedic
City.

Once people are comfortable with the 200 figure, then some new excuse
will come up for the pundits not coming -- maybe they're needed more
in Lebanon or something, then the 200 Purusha can be slipped in after
conditioning the TM community to lowered expectations.

Because the TMO is rehabbing 100+ Livingston Manor, despite its poor
vastu, which can only be a home (again) for the ~100 Mother Divine,
it looks like they are trying to do everything on the cheap, which
means that it seems unlikely that they are really going to build in
Santa Cruz Ca, which would be a very costly effort -- I'm taking bets
now that Purusha will come to Vedic City before their kick-out date
of Feb 2006 from Boone, and it might even be possible to work
something out with Jefferson County so that they do not have to pay
property taxes like they did in North Carolina.

That might be the case, or at least the spin, who knows? Undoubtedly,
quite a few of the Purusha guys have been studying Sanskrit, and it
might be possible that they could get them to do Vedic recitation --
after all, Mother Divine ladies are putting out CDs of songs in
Sanskrit, so some kind of Vedic performances might be possible by
Purusha. Certainly, the donors to the Vedic City pundit project would
actually like to see some pundits there, so if the pundits in India
can't come here, maybe some or all of the Purusha leaving Boone could
be converted into pundits.

Since the rumor about Santa Cruz had been only that they had acquired

which would take many months of construction.

All the money donated to date is highly visible as a trailer park in
Vedic City, so the money was spent for its intended purpose, but
because of poor planning visavis the visas, they may not be able to get
pundits from India, so homegrown/European ones may have to do, which is
not too bad for the Kaliyuga.

Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by

Hmmm, I seem to recall that Vedic pundits from India was whom it was intended for--they even went so far as to put in those special toilets that Indians are used to.

Maybe the whole visa problem really did take them by surprise--who knows.

Well, if westerners can do pujas in the initiation ceremony, they can
do yagyas, too, in a pinch, and this is a pinch. Vedic City is saying
thtey are going to have a school of Divinity there, and I think this
means westerners learning how to be Vedic priests:

MUM has had their regular Indian students turned down for visas
before, but after a lot of jawing with consular officials at US
embassies in India, their acceptance rate went way up:

http://www.mum.edu/TheReview/02-03/1-22-03.html#3

However, the pundits do not speak English, and they also are
uneducated (the two go together, since English is the language of
instruction there http://www.panjab.org.uk/english/engenctr.htm ), in
addition to being very poor -- these are factors which would not
encourage consular officials to overlook the pundits' poverty (the
thinking being that really poor people won't leave the USA after
their visas expire). So it was unrealistic to think that there would
be no problem with pundit visas -- they could have avoided the
problem by trying to get 25-50 visas before they started to build,
and then see if the project was feasible. Maybe, out of the 200,000
pundits in training in India, they have been able to mine 200 middle-
class pundits, but it's looking doubtful the more time passes.

That would, of course, have been the common sense solution. But learning from past mistakes has never seemed to be part of the program.

I think a big body of water is supposed to be more than a mile away

The TMO should be able to sell this place for good money, and build a
