Suggest seeing the Beginners - it was excellent. I took both
my kids and they loved it also. I also saw the Descendents -
wasn't overly impressed, but it was good film as compared to
many. I want to see the Artist, for something different and
will see Moneyball tonight as it hit the local $3 cinema.
Thanks for posting these as I don't follow awards shows much.
I am in a position to have been able to download a
version of the Golden Globes awards show and then
fast-forward it, watching only the good parts. I
was interested in seeing what various celebrities
look like these days, especially when drunk (the
Golden Globes gig serves booze; the Oscars does
not...Dustin Hoffman was definitely drunk). :-)
I look forward to seeing The Descendants. This
much praise overcomes my initial ho hum reaction
to the trailers. I watched Moneyball last night
and found it a surprisingly good movie, even though
I am officially The World's Premiere Not A Sports
Guy. It's not really about baseball per se; it's
about drawing outside the lines, thinking out of
the box, and the occasional effect that has on
people who believe that there is nothing *but*
drawing inside the lines and thinking inside the
box.

Haven't seen it, have seen the others. Hard to imagine a bunch of film
