The WWotW is a cartoonish harpy who is hated by all and who maintains control only by terrorizing people. And who ends up defeated by the proverbial dash of cold water in the face. Well then Camille Paglia would be the better choice -- not just because she's the first person who comes to mind with her online persona -- but also because she has some power as an intellectual (and to piss off other feminists). And there's a slight resemblance physically.

And it's *most* interesting that he likes the idea of Nurse Ratched losing her power by having her femininity revealed. What he neglects to mention here is that in trying to strangle Nurse Ratched, McMurphy manages to damage her vocal cords so badly that she is unable to *speak*. That's the key to Barry's fantasy, his desire to shut me up. He wants it so badly he'd probably be willing to be lobotomized. The amazing thing for me is that Judy views each of these fictional characters as having an incred- ible amount of power. I think that says more about her fantasies and her notions of what power is than it says about either of us. The reason I have such power over you, Barry, is your *weakness*, not any extraordinary strength of mine. Authenticity trumps phoniness every time. But cheer up, you're not the only one to entertain such fantasies about me. Andrew Skolnick used to identify me with Torquemada, for example. All in all, even though as I said the age thing is all wrong, Hermione fidgeting in her chair and waving her hand so she can give the right answer and outshine the other students and then gloat is a better match for Judy. That is, after all, her whole act here on FFL...why shouldn't it be in the movie version? :-) Sez Barry, trying desperately to obscure the fact that he's been nailed *again*, but managing only to inadvertently reinforce his fantasy. Hermione is, of course, supernaturally powerful in addition to being very smart. What Barry leaves out here is that she's also an admirable individual, extremely brave, loyal, and self-sacrificing. She frequently gets her friends out of messes, sometimes even saving their lives. (I'm not *that* admirable, I'm afraid.) I'm guessing Barry was tormented as a child by a female classmate who continually got the better of him intellectually, and most likely had a lot more character as well. So his notion of me as Hermione reveals yet another side to his fantasy.

I was thinking, for new.morning, more of a Max Van Sydow combo -- part from Bergeman's Seventh Seal, and the other from Hanna and Her Sisters. Perhaps as imitated by daffy duck. Saturday Night Live characters come to mind for me. Not only as characters, but the character that some see in others. For instance, Fred Garvin -- Male Prostitute -- could be how Duv sees Barry and Curtis. Or the Mrs. Conehead and Emilie Latella dynamic: Emile: What is all this fuss I hear about the Supreme Court decision on a deaf penalty? It's terrible! Deaf people have enough problems as it is! When Mrs Conehead points out Emile's error to her (death vs. deaf), she would crinkle her nose, usually say, Oh, that's very different..., and then humbly say to the audience, Never mind. Emilie being everyone on the forum except Mrs Conehead. And Vaj, though perhaps seeing himself as Yoda, might be seen by some as Mr. Conehead. And Rory and Jim, those two wild an crazy neo-advaitists!! Though Jim could well be played by Eddie Murphy playing Mr. Greenjeans. Oh what a wonderful day in the neighbor hood... And Rory played by JACK Handy, Deep Thoughts. Who does not picture Off as Jim Belushi a martial arts guy with sword in the kitchen? (with a strong tinge of Jack N in The Shining). And a touch of the hyperactive 10 year old girl played by Gilda Radner. Jack in Shining might best portray Duv -- combined with Charlton Heston as Moses, crashing on the pagans (his people have become) dancing around a golden bull. Perhaps Martin Short's Ed Grimely (spiked hair) as Nab. Jon Lovitz could nail Shemp, Yeah, yeah, thats the ticket... --- In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, TurquoiseB [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: IMDB Entry FAIRFIELD LIFE: THE MOVIE (2008) Directed by: Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino Starring: Humphrey Bogart as Rick (Duh...Everybody comes to Rick's) http://www.allposters.com/-sp/Casablanca-Posters_i1138841_.htm Johnny Depp as Alex http://www.imdb.com/gallery/ss/0325980/04_6520.jpg Rutger Hauer as new.morning http://www.imdb.com/gallery/ss/0083658/114482PRPHOTO1.jpg Kathleen Turner as Sal Sunshine http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1800039600/photo/560702 Shemp Howard as shempmcgurk (again, Duh) http://www.imdb.com/gallery/mptv/1207/Mptv/1207/5268_0041.jpg Kurt Russell as Bhairitu http://www.imdb.com/gallery/ss/0090728/BigTrouble.jpg Peter Sellers as TomT http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078841/posters Paul Newman as Rory http://www.imdb.com/gallery/mptv/1252/Mptv/1252/6016_0022.jpg Robert Redford as Jim http://www.imdb.com/gallery/mptv/1148/6016-0014.jpg Antonio Banderas as curtisdeltablues http://www.boxxet.com/Salma_Hayek/Video_Desperado_Canci_n_del_mariachi.15hl5k.d Bruce Campbell as off_world_beings http://www.imdb.com/gallery/granitz/1494/Events/1494/BruceCampb_Vespa_609154_400.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rl_L0A3PUoY Paul Reubens as nablus http://www.allposters.com/-sp/Pee-wee-s-Big-Adventure-Posters_i1632923_.htm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVKsd8z6scw Michael Keaton as Willytex http://www.imdb.com/gallery/ss/0094721/Ss/0094721/BEETLEJUICE7.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5TggQr9Vck Robert De Niro as Vaj http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092563/posters http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVMw-pSgUQU Steve Martin as Edg http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093886/posters http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWNLhptltBg Louise Fletcher as Judy Stein http://www.littlereview.com/goddesslouise/movies/cuckoo.htm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuyXTZuGPAs Kevin Spacey as TurquoiseB http://www.imdb.com/gallery/ss/0114814/Ss/0114814/fcstil_0086.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhpG9i3H57Y
