Webber writes for Broadway-style musicals and those musical shows (count 'em,

You can just imagine the royalties from not only the live stage productions but
also from the recordings and airtime of his tunes. i.e. Phantom of the Opera,
Cats etc and his worth would skyrocket and continue to do so long after he had
written these scores. He was referred to as "the most commercially successful
composer in history" in 2001 by the NY Times so I am not surprised his fortune
is what it is.

People enter without anybody knowing or over stay their visas. That is a
security risk that is unacceptable. When I visited India, I had to have my
passport with me at all times. When I checked into a hotel I had to present it

If you're talking about Donald Trump, no, he hasn't shot himself in the foot,
and no, it's not over for him yet. And none of the GOP candidates is a Trump
wannabe. The GOP is terrified of Trump and is trying to figure out how to get
rid of him. They know that if he wins the nomination, the party will go down
the tubes in the national election.

2015-12-08 Thread Mike Dixon mdixon.6...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]
Right, we have plenty of our own problems right here and now! We don't need to
increase them. as far as I can tell, Trump isn't proposing a total and
permanent ban on Muslims. He wants the government to get it's act together in
regards to who is coming in, what their business is, etc. As it is right now,
anybody with a European passport can enter the US without a visa. There are
thousands of EU passport holding Muslims that have gone to Syria and Iraq for
ISIS training that are not necessarily on a watch list and could travel to the
US without restrictions. However, what he proposes is against the Constitution
and wouldn't hold up in court. You can't discriminate against race, religion
etc. But... you can discriminate against countries or national origin or even
stop all immigration until time that things get cleaned up.What you *feel*
about Trump is exactly how many, if not more, feel about Obama. Quite frankly,
I find it amazing that Joe Biden hasn't taken the office yet.

I'm not so sure about that Judy. The establishment Republicans *think* they
will go down the tubes in the national elections. Democrats hate him, but they
weren't going to vote for anyway.Republicans fear him because he makes them
look like the people that the Democrats have always portrayed them to be...
racists , bigot, homophobes since he's running as a Republican. What Trump does
is put Americans first. Stop illegal immigration, create more job
opportunities... for Americans, protect the homeland from outside threats. He
doesn't give a shit about political correctness and that makes people think
that he cares about them and not how he is perceived by the media. The more the
media attacks him, the more people like him. He looks like a David standing up
to Goliath.

foot, and no, it's not over for him yet. And none of the GOP candidates is a
Trump wannabe. The GOP is terrified of Trump and is trying to figure out how to
get rid of him. They know that if he wins the nomination, the party will go

The media and Trump's opponents have been very timid so far in their
criticisms. That makes him look strong and brave. If they were to really go
after him with no holds barred, he'd crumble, because he's a bully. Joe
Scarborough on Fox on Tuesday tried to get him to stop talking so he and Mika
could ask questions, and when he wouldn't, Scarborough cut him off and went to
commercial. When they came back, Trump was suddenly much more cooperative about
listening to their questions. If that sort of thing happened more often, he
wouldn't look so David-like.

Judy,

It's possible that Trump would leave the GOP if he thinks he's being treated
unfairly. He could run as an independent if the GOP machine is not careful.
IMO, such a scenario would be detrimental to the party.

[FairfieldLife] Fwd: BREAKING NEWS: Scientists Propose Solution to Terrorism

2015-12-08 Thread Dick Mays dickm...@lisco.com [FairfieldLife]
Forwarded from: TM National Announcements

SCIENTISTS PROPOSE “PEACE-PROMOTING TECHNOLOGY” TO COUNTER TERRORISM
An Interview with Quantum Physicist John Hagelin

Show your support by viewing, sharing and
liking this article on The Huffington Post
.

December 8, 2015

As governments falter in their struggle to find a solution to unpredictable
outbreaks of terror, an international alliance of concerned scientists has
offered a possible solution.

The Global Union of Scientists for Peace

has recently published an Open Letter

to Presidents Obama, Hollande, and Putin—and to the leaders of all
nations—proposing a scientific alternative to the conventional approach of
creating peace through violence (International New York Times, December 3,
2015). In the following interview, Quantum Physicist John Hagelin, President of
the Global Union of Scientists for Peace, answers questions about this novel
approach.

Dr. Hagelin

received his Ph.D. from Harvard University, and conducted pioneering research
at CERN (the European Center for Particle Physics) and SLAC (the Stanford
Linear Accelerator Center). He is responsible for the development of a highly
successful grand unified field theory based on the superstring, and his
scientific contributions include some of the most cited references in the
physical sciences.

QUESTION: Your open letter in the Times offers an explanation of the root cause
of terrorism: deep-rooted societal stress. Could you summarize?

It is the overwhelming consensus of experts in the field of conflict resolution
that the first stage in the emergence of war is mounting societal stress—acute
political, ethnic, and religious tensions among rival factions in critical hot
spots throughout the world. If these tensions continue to grow unchecked, they
eventually reach a boiling point. They inevitably erupt in social violence: in
crime, war, and terrorism. If we can defuse these societal tensions before they
erupt—even a little—they do not break out into social violence. Water does not
boil at 99 degrees centigrade.

“Collective consciousness” is a term that means the sum total of all the
individual consciousnesses that make up a society. Stressed individuals create
a stressed society—a stressed collective consciousness. And everyone embedded
within that stressed society feels that societal stress. It thereby feeds upon
itself.

Individual practice of certain evidence-based, stress-reducing meditation
techniques relieves individual stress, according to extensive published
research. And practice of these techniques—in particular, the Transcendental
Meditation technique (TM)
—by
a significant sub-portion of a population (even 1%) has been similarly shown
to reduce societal stress, leading to substantially reduced violent crime,
psychiatric crisis calls, and other indicators of acute societal stress.

Moreover, practice of TM® and the more advanced TM-Sidhi® program in large
groups has been found to produce an even more powerful societal effect.
Multiple studies

looking at war in the Middle East, as well as global terrorism, have shown
that as few as the square root of 1% of the population of a given region,
practicing in large groups, can very effectively defuse and prevent social
conflict throughout the entire region. (Here is a brief summary

could ask questions, and when he wouldn't, Scarborough cut him off and went to
commercial. When they came back, Trump was suddenly much more cooperative about
listening to their questions. If that sort of thing happened more often, he
wouldn't look so David-like.

racists , bigot, homophobes since he's running as a Republican.
What Trump does is put Americans first. Stop illegal immigration, create more
job opportunities... for Americans, protect the homeland from outside threats.
He doesn't give a shit about political correctness and that makes people think
that he cares about them and not how he is perceived by the media. The more the
media attacks him, the more people like him. He looks like a David standing up

If you're talking about Donald Trump, no, he hasn't shot himself in the
foot, and no, it's not over for him yet. And none of the GOP candidates is a
Trump wannabe. The GOP is terrified of Trump and is trying to figure out how to
get rid of him. They know that if he wins the nomination, the party will go
down the tubes in the national election.

[FairfieldLife] Re: Trump Wants to Ban Muslims from Entering the US

2015-12-08 Thread ultrarishi
Trump is TeaBag 2.0. The GOP got in this situation themselves when they
decided they are not a party of principle. They are lobbying and business
governance entity which manipulates its message to attract whatever will get
them enough votes to get in. Their main purpose is keeping a populace ignorant
and consuming while that same populace loses its freedom at the expense of
business needs. In the 80's it was the Reagan fantasy that we can be great
again. In the 90's it was the Newt vision of "we're the adults, let us be in
charge". Under GW it was be afraid because (fill in the blank) they are coming
to get us. The rise of the Tea Party was an usurp populice movement that was
more or less a Tupperware Party put on by the Koch Brothers and friends that
made intolerance and lack of cooperation at the expense of progress a virtue.
Now, with Trump, we got someone from the business world like Romney who isn't
afraid to hide his stupidity or his hatred.

I am so glad he is running and on the GOP side of things. It really shows how
bankrupt the party has become in moral fiber, vision, and concern for the
country as a whole. Divide, divide, divide. I think the world is a little
worried because they have seen how Congress has done nothing the past 5 years.
A Trump presidency (spit!) would be more of the same on global scale.

How's that John Galt thing working out?

[FairfieldLife] International travel

2015-12-08 Thread emily.ma...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]
Just heard this on the radio. All international trips are cancelled, including
the upcoming sports team trips to the US (e.g. hockey game in Hawaii). The
spokesperson said that, in addition to the Paris attacks, the San Bernadino
shooting and the 355 mass shootings in the US this year (a number they heard
last week) played into the decision. It's too dangerous here for them to take
the risk to travel to the US; "anything could happen at anytime." Of course,
they have to care for others' children, which makes a difference in their risk
assessment, I'm sure.
