My friend moved to Arkansaw several years ago. She has contracted Rocky Mountain Fever and is very sick. Nothing is helping. She is now seeing a holistic doctor and he is giving her hydrogen peroxide IV's. One would think if a cure would have popped up that it would be talked about everywhere especially by the FeLV cat parents crowd. I find it frustrating when people post information on FB under cats that are in need of homes and do not have their facts straight. They are either sharing that FeLV is this freakishly contagious disease and that all FeLV cats must be kept separate or euthanized or they are spouting about cures. Those of us who have FeLV babies and are praying for that cure to save them don't want that fake carrot dangled in front of our faces. Anyway sorry for the rant, I just wanted to be sure I am not out of the loop before I keep arguing with her about it. Also there are 2 beautiful, sweet cats in Austin TX who are felv + and in need of a home asap. If anyone may be interested please let me know and I will forward the link with the info and pics. Murphy has passed to the bridge tonight to join Buster, Oni, Jack and Schatzi-Rosie's 4 brothers that passed last year. He was 2 1/2. Glenn and I saw in his eyes tonight that he was tired. He gave it all he had but in the end FeLV took him too.We will miss him so much-he filled the house with his incredible personality. He always ran to the door to greet everyone-he never knew a stranger. I will miss his big, poly-dactyl feet going clickity-click around the house and how he could leap up the wall and turn the light switch off and on when he chased the laser toy. Rosie will miss giving him vampire kisses-she's a tough love kinda girl and she is the last Mohican of the 6 FeLV+ kitties we began this journey with. Sherry, don't give up and don't stop fighting! Several months ago, I found a beautiful Calico kitten in the alley. She was very sick and is FELV positive. After 5 days at the vet with antibiotics and IV's,the vet let her go home but said that her blood work didn't look good and that her prognosis was poor. I started her on the following: 2ML of DMG, 500 mg of Lysine and 1 Ml of Interferon. I put it into a needle-less syringe, shake it up, and squirt it into her mouth. The improvement in her has been dramatic. I took her to the vet last week and her blood work is Normal! She is happy, eating well and playing. DMG ( 1 Ml is recommended but I give her 2, can be purchased On-Line from Only Natural Pet Store. Lysine can be purchased at a Vitamin Store ( by capsules so you don't have to crush them.) Interferon can be ordered on-line by vet prescription- this is how I get mine. I can't promise anything but it is working for me and I have read that it has worked for others. Good luck!
