OK, so who says miracles and divine intervention do not exist? After a couple
of hours in the very hot sun, I found evidence that maybe VooDoo was alive and
close by. Then, I discovered that the police now have a NO trapping policy. I
went to my Japanese vet to see if he could find a trap. He was going to call
the city on Monday. So, back to being a little stressed, feeling as though my
best hope was gone.

A couple of hours later, a very short, but really hard rain came and I was once
again concerned because I thought he was hiding in a drain pipe. As soon as
the rain ended, I went to the back door and called out asking him to come home.
What do you know, he answered me with his crazy, whiny cry. After a few
minutes of trying to coax him into the house, I decided that he was either
trapped or hurt. I called to him and he continued to call back. Once I
located him hiding under a tree, I belly crawled on the wet ground to where he
was. I reached under, in the dark, expecting the worst. However, he let me
grab him and pull him out.

So, 48 hours after going missing, my baby is home safe and sound. We will be
watching closely for sniffles and signs of fever!

Thank you all for your advice and positive vibes. I truly believe that they
worked.

Subject: [Felvtalk] Please add Aggie to the CLS

Hi all,

I know I haven't posted in awhile, but I wanted to offer an update to those of
you who followed our story with our little bundle of spunk, Aggie.
We helped Aggie cross over this morning, and it was one of the hardest
things I've had to do. It was also the right thing to do. Her anemia
caused her to gasp for air since yesterday evening, and she was starting
to involuntarily shake, could no longer walk, make it to the litter
box, and could barely raise her head to watch the lizards running around
our patio. She was my little valiant fighter for 7 years, but
ultimately FELV took her from me. We tried everything short of a
transfusion, and it just wasn't enough.
I firmly
believe that LTCI bought us about a year of good quality time. Her
bloodwork was taking a VERY marked decline last June, and LTCI reversed it.
Unfortunately, FELV is a tough nut to crack and there was only so much
we could do.

It was very peaceful, she just went to sleep while we
sang her song to her , and told her what a blessing she has been in our
life. If love could heal, she'd have been the healthiest cat ever. But
right now, she's not in any pain, no more seizures, no more force
feeding, no more shots, and only peace.

There is a void in my home, and my heart right now. But I am so, so
thankful to have had her at all. I didn't even like cats before I met
her, and now I'm a sucker for them!

Thank you for your advice, your collective knowledge, and more importantly, for
the kindness you show to everyone who is dealing with this nasty disease.

Peace to all of you, and good luck on your journeys with your beloved
fuzzbuckets.

Today is another sad day for us as we lost two more wonderful Sids kids.
Simon was a beautiful fluffy tiger and white laid back sweet boy. I fell for
him instantly when I saw that beautful face. He was my sponsor kitty for the
short time we had him.
Wopsle, was a sweet fluffy black boy,who recently just started following all
around while I did my chores at Sids.
If any of you would like to see pics of any of our Sids kids.I post them on
Facebook.Just friend me and let me know you are from the group. Look for
Sherry DeHaan.
Here are a few of our own Dr. Jens words to us tonight:

How fitting that this Memorial Day weekend we have two of our own leaving
us, only to leave the fondest of memories in their wake; heartbreaking but
thankfully they at least had a few good, no GREAT, weeks with all of us. God
bless these little creatures and the struggles they were faced with in their
short time here on this earth.

Bless you all and have a safe holiday weekend Sherry

the
CLS, not knowing whether or not I'm going to end up crying. Heck, I can't
even
figure out what CLS means! :| I've been drawing a blank now for about six
months, and am so tired of trying I figured I'd just own up to it and hope
someone will enlighten me. ;) Your email hit me especially hard because I can
picture everything you described about you and your boy. Your'e right. They
DO
know when they are special in particular to you. And my heart sores knowing
that Caeser had you to make him feel that way. The extra special and sweet
posts, such as yours, are so heart warming even with the weight of the sorrow
and the tears. It's the love in your/our heart(s) that shores itself up
against
that heavy load.

We care about you, and I will pray for you, and hope that this weight will be
lifted in the days to come, and eased by your precious memories of Caeser. God

FeLV
took him too.We will miss him so much-he filled the house with his incredible
personality. He always ran to the door to greet everyone-he never knew a
stranger. I will miss his big, poly-dactyl feet going clickity-click around the
house and how he could leap up the wall and turn the light switch off and on
when he chased the laser toy. Rosie will miss giving him vampire kisses-she's a

began this journey with. Thanks to all of you for your kindness and caring.

Hi! Just wanted to thank everyone who posts on this list. . . I've kept a low
profile for a year while I learned more than I ever wanted to know about this
awful virus. I adopted my first animals, Glinda and Georgie (also a girl), a
little over two years ago. A year in, Glinda got sick. Her HCT was at 9
And I quickly learned all about FeLV. Despite all of my efforts, she died
seven weeks later. I had been hand-feeding her multiple times a day, and
giving SubQ fluids daily to try and break her awful fever (105!). LTCI,
interferon and two blood transfusions as well. As my cats had never left my
tiny apartment and had never been in contact with any other animals, it was
pretty clear that their negative test at the (best!) shelter was a false
negative. I'm so grateful that they slipped through the cracks, though! Such
sweet dispositions-- I was lucky to know them. A few weeks ago, Georgie became
sick too (HCT down to 19.5) and had also developed lymphoma. We treated her
w/ Interferon (which she had been on a year), prednisone, LTCI, and I was
helping her eat multiple times a day. She went downhill quickly in the end.
Despite all we try and do to slow down this awful virus, it's just that, awful.
I've been told that the sweetest kitties get the worst diseases. Perhaps it
is because of the disease that all of our animals are so very special. I have
loved (and will continue to love) reading so many amazing stories on this
list-serve. This community is phenomenal, and I'm glad to have found it.
Perhaps my first first animals didn't live as long as I would have hoped, but I
know that they had the best lives they could have possibly had with me, and I'm
so grateful for every second I got to spend with them!

Murphy has been sneezing-We took Murphy and Rosie in yesterday for check ups
and
blood work. They did an in house PCV on him because his gums were pale. He is
anemic at 18.5%. This is the beginning of the end. I had hoped that after
losing
Rosie's 4 brothers last year that we would get a reprieve. I had hoped that the
vet's rough rule of 1/3 would apply to us since we began with 6. We had Rosie
and her 5 brothers-and Murphy, the friendly kitten that was tossed into the
feral colony that we caught Rosie and the boys from after trapping and
neutering
their mother-1/3 of kitties would succumb quickly, 1/3 would die young and 1/3
generally live fairly uneventful lives for quite a while. Murphy is becoming
lethargic at times, sometimes stretching out and sleeping on the floor-not his
usual pose-he is my eagle, if he isn't on the computer desk next to me-curled
up
in an envelope box (any box will do-he has even tried to squeeze into a box
barely big enough for his head-LOL)-he is asleep in the spare room-on top of
the
bookcase! He has a talent of springing from the floor and landing in a box on
top of a 4' cabinet without touching the edges-he is like a little antelope
with
his springy legs. Murphy is the king of cats-I have never been owned by such an
awesome kitty. He is beautiful with his fluffy, tuxedo coat, huge eyes and even
huger paws-he has 7 toes on his front feet and 6 on the backs. He can snag a
cat
toy tossed at him like in mid-air like a baseball player and can even pick up
things using the extra toes like fingers. I cannot believe this is happening
again. We have begun Procrit, iron supplement and Doxy for the sneezing/cold
thing he has going on-his lungs are clear, but a little wheezing in his throat
area. Wish us luck-I am so sad right now and keep tearing up. I can't take much
more of this disease, so much loss for all of us. Alice and Glenn (humans),
Rosie and Murphy-furkids
