Re: [Felvtalk] OT Gas driling
Glad you were able to get away! I just read a whole expose on the nuclear power plant in Buchanan, NY - extremely unsafe, shut down several times, Governor Cuomo wanted to shut it down when he was still Attorney General, and definitely now - tons of radiated water was spewing into the Hudson River, people are fishing there, studies have shown that in the areas, there's radiation in mothers' milk, children's teeth (the ones that fall out), and many thyroid cancers, etc. We happen to be in the danger radius of that plant and I NEVER heard of this beforeevacuation of all those millions of people is impossible should something happen! -Original Message- From: felvtalk-boun...@felineleukemia.org [mailto:felvtalk-boun...@felineleukemia.org] On Behalf Of Lorrie Sent: Sunday, July 17, 2011 5:41 PM To: felvtalk@felineleukemia.org Subject: [Felvtalk] OT Gas driling > On 07-17, Natalie wrote: > You must have some proof of it, pictures, affidavits, sale of your > house for less, etc.? We had pictures of the mess it made. Trees down, road torn up, etc. but these gas companies have lawyers on retainer to fight their battles, and we were advised we'd probably lose the case. It would cost us a bundle and the stress would be incredible. Fortunately the house was still okay, just the grounds were messed up, and in a few months the small town we lived in ran water lines out there, so we all had drinkable water again. We didn't make any money on the sale of the house, but we did get enough to get out of there. ___ Felvtalk mailing list Felvtalk@felineleukemia.org http://felineleukemia.org/mailman/listinfo/felvtalk_felineleukemia.org ___ Felvtalk mailing list Felvtalk@felineleukemia.org http://felineleukemia.org/mailman/listinfo/felvtalk_felineleukemia.org

That's disgusting, and sad. The thing is that people always hear just what they want to hear, and won't countenance any info that doesn't fit with their world view. And (without trying to crawl up on the soapbox) some politicians are way too eager to capitalize on people's fears, and it's in their best interests to keep those people as uninformed and misinformed as possible. Re: [Felvtalk] OT Gas driling
In my town a bunch of us got together, knocked on doors, and told residents about what was going to happen if they signed. Also, there is imminent domain that allows them to do it anyway. The surface right owners apparently have no rights either.
