Most vets don't prescribe valium to cats any more due to the negative effects it has on other parts of the body (I think kidneys/liver). I would suggest keeping them in a safe room with everything they need. Preferably your bedroom or other room where they will encounter only you. Rescue remedy rubbed in non hairy part of ears and also feliway plug ins may calm them. I know that a few of mine would be terrified and severely stressed out with that many people in the house. I've tried Feliway-they make a plug in. That may work for you. Even though keeping the pets in a smaller room normally is not what you'd want to do, you might consider keeping them locked in one room, preferably your bedroom, complete with food, water, and litter boxes, for those four days. Had I known that Cricket would get so stressed when we had 10 family members staying with us, I would have done the same.
