[Finale] FONT not working in 2005a
Here's another update phenomenon. Maybe one of you font guys can solve this one. In my last few months of Finale files, I have exclusively used the font Chalkboard for all my text expressions and most of my headers. It worked fine in everything up to and including Finale 2005. Since updating to 2005a, Chalkboard no longer comes out looking like the font. It's still listed in the fonts, but appears on the screen and in printout like some generic default font. This was confirmed tonight by Karen also. Not only do I like the look of Chalkboard (I use it in all e-mails now also), but more importantly I do not want to go back into my hundreds of Finale files and change all the supposed occurrences of the font to something. Incidentally, Chalkboard works fine in all other applications. Any solution? All the best, KIM Richmond ___ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale

It drags OK, but when I lay it on top of the other staff, the outline never becomes BOLD and it will not copy. Anyone else have this problem? YES! But thankfully it happens so infrequently that I haven't been able to figure out a scenario (double-bar) for it. Highlight in Mass Copy as usual, press ctrl-shift, then click on the measure where you want to start your copy. It's such a reliable work-around, I've not bothered to complain about the drag failure. Re: [Finale] Image export / size / page size
First of all, I hope you're planning on using TIF files and not EPS... Why do you say this. Where is the problem with EPS files? It's not possible to specify the size of the output, but using a grid you can get a fairly precise idea of the size of your example. That's what I would do if I were able to export EPS files in Finale. If you are on Windows I am told it doesn't work at all. On Mac, you should be ok if your EPS only contains music fonts. If it contains text fonts as well there may or may not be problems. In my case NewCenturySchoolbook does not get included in the EPS. This may end up being a problem when the EPS is reimported (especially if you reimport into Finale, but I guess you don't want to do that anyway). And it may be more of a problem if you give these files to someone else. Johannes Sorry to hear that. [Finale] Layer style question
I count on stem directions by layer contents. I just realized layer style treats the contents as hidden so other layers stop reacting to it, i.e., Layer 1 is Kick-Over-Time and Layer 2 is slash. When I apply slash to layer 2, layer 1 stem direction no longer stay up automatically, and I can't find the pref option to stop this. I can freeze them manually but I don't like Finale treats styled layer as 'no contents', and would like to stop this. Any suggestion would be appreciated. -- - Hiro Hiroaki Honshuku, A-NO-NE Music, Boston, MA http://a-no-ne.com http://anonemusic.com ___ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale

Re: [Finale] Re: DRAG copying
Not sure if this is related to this thread, but I just experienced very odd behavior as the first time. FinMac2005a. I copy a bar to the right for 3 bars repetition, but it gets copied only once. I drag to the right again but this time I typed '2', yet it copied only once. Shift+Opt+Click always work reliably, but something is funky with drag copy. Antwort auf Nachricht: Urs Liska écrit: First of all, I hope you're planning on using TIF files and not EPS... Why do you say this. Where is the problem with EPS files? Because recent versions of Finale (Windows) can't export EPS files with embedded fonts (either in WinXP or Win2000). This has been broken for years, and MakeMusic has no idea when it will be fixed. If have managed to produce EPS files with embedded fonts, I, and many others, I assume, would be very grateful if you could post all relevant details: OS, version of finale, printer driver, settings. I have to admit that I didn't manage to do that - because I never tried (and I didn't pretend - sorry if someone misunderstood me). I just tried and found out that even Acrobat wouldn't embed my text fonts :-( Thanks, Dennis ___ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale ___ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale

Hiro, I was married to a Japanese woman. I was learning Japanese for some time, and I could almost follow a conversation, but the problem was, when I wanted to say something, it took me so long to construct my phrase, that when I was ready, the subject had already changed;-) And I gave up reading and writing after the first some hundred Kanji or so...
