Now you tell me….:-)

You would think that after using Finale for 30+ years I would have known to
take this wise precaution.

I solved my Crashing Finale problem by deleting the Finale Preferences File.
Hated setting everything up again, but Finale is now running smoothly again. I
wonder if this will fix Mike G’s problem as well.

Re: [Finale] Mac OS issue

2019-02-10 Thread Lawrence David Eden
Looks like I might have jumped the shark with my warnings about the Security
Update. My problems with Finale 25 have proven to be unrelated to the Security
Update.

Finale Mac 25 Mac Mini running Mac OS Mojave 10.14.3. I can crash Finale
simply by changing tools….very unusual for my system.

Question: I plan on doing a reinstallation of Finale. Should I delete the
version (FinMac25) that is already on my Mac before reinstalling?

Thanks for any assistance!

[Finale] Crashing

2019-02-10 Thread Lawrence David Eden
Finale 25 has been crashing on my Mac running OS 10.13.6 High Sierra. I am
using Speedy to enter notes and Finale crashes suddenly.
I have MIDI THRU turned OFF, but after each crash, Finale enables MIDI THRU and
I have to turn it off again. The crashes are a new occurrence.

I got this report from Finale on its last crash. I hope someone can tell me
how to fix this issue as it is making Finale useless. Thanks!

[Finale] Mac OS issue

2019-02-10 Thread Lawrence David Eden
Greetings and a word of warning to others:

Yesterday, I installed the latest Security Update for Mac OS. (I am running
10.13.6). I zapped the PRAM after I did the installation.

When I opened Finale 25.5 to continue work on a project, my MIDI settings were
different. Using Speedy when the score was displayed in transposed pitch caused
a return of the minor seconds sounding as I entered each note. This was a
problem that my colleagues on the List helped me fix last summer. Question is:
was it the Security Update or the PRAM Zap that changed things in Finale.

Any ideas? Have any of you experienced this issue as well?
