Re: [Finale] Enharmonic key signature?

2019-01-29 Thread Michael Meyer
Got it — I did try it as a new staff style, so I could still use JD’s solution
but apply it only to that part of the score that was in E Major. Thanks again
for the help!

Thanks, JD — that worked! Unfortunately, though, the E Major section is later
in the piece, and these settings caused earlier key signatures to display
double-flats and all sorts of nonsense! Do you (or does anyone else) know if I
can change it for just this E Major section? I think that’s something I can do
with a staff style, but I tend to be really bad at staff styles.

Re: [Finale] Enharmonic key signature?

2019-01-29 Thread j...@thomastudios.com
I got this to work correctly, but it’s way convoluted. In the staff
transposition dialog, from Score Manager, change the staff transposition to
Other, uncheck Simplify Key, put 9 in the interval field and -10 in the key
alter field. Leave it in treble obviously.

I did this just now in Finale 25 and I got the proper transposition. In
reading the online manual for this dialog, the part pertaining to the interval
and key alter, I got a headache. So I had another cup of coffee and moved on.
Whew!! This should be easier (and maybe it is).

[Finale] Enharmonic key signature?

2019-01-29 Thread Michael Meyer
Hi all —

I thought I knew how to do this, but it’s not working. FinMac26.

Concert key is E Major. Have a tenor sax part that displays F# Major, but I
need it to display Gb Major instead.

I thought I did this in ScoreManager for the instrument’s Transposition, either
by checking or un-checking the box for “Simplify Key” — but doing that hasn’t
changed the displayed key signature from F# Major.

Am I doing it wrong? Is it actually something/somewhere else?

Thanks for any help.

[Finale] Enharmonic Key Signature

2012-11-15 Thread Neal Gittleman
Greetings…

Working on something with E Major key signature and Clarinets in B-flat. The
Clarinets naturally appear with a key signature of F# Major. I'd like their
parts to be in Gb Major instead. How can I make that change?

Thanks…
