My apologies -- I thought you had already upgraded to Finale v25. If you haven't already wasted your money on Finale25, then don't because it obviously won't offer you anything positive over what you're already doing. The scanner creates a tiff, right? If so, you file->import the tiff into Fin14.5. I believe the issue here is that MM inexplicably and inexcusably removed the tiff import from Fin25. But if you import it into Fin14.5 (or some earlier version), you then save it as musx (or mus). There is no need to go through a music xml step. I believe you'd have to save it in xml format and import it into finale. Well, to be fair, makemusic is owned by a company who also owns Alfred music, which is like one of the biggest music publishers in the world.so. I do a lot of transcribing of solos and ensemble pieces for my saxophone students. If the original is printed I’ll scan it and import into Finale.
