RE: FOP internet explorer
Well. I don't know if I understand it but I can produce pdf reports with IE 5.0 and Adobe Acrobat 5.0 (in Adobe Acrobat 4.0 it works, but sometimes fail). I call a servlet that create pdf and show it on the browser... just it. Anyway, initialy I had some problems, but I solved it (I don't have an answer. I can show how I do it...) Cocoon version 1.8.2 Tomcat version 3.2.1 In our application the XML files are created by anCOCOON XMLproducer and transformed using a xslfo stylesheet. As you know, everything works fine in Netscapewhile in Internet Explorer there are some problems. It seems IE doesn't consider so much the document content type. The producer is invoked in this way: http://w2k5500/prod/comune/dummy.xml?producer=CIExslfile=tryme.xsl note that dummy.xml doesn't exist but the producer need it to start. I think the problem could be resolved calling the producer in this way http://w2k5500/prod/comune/dummy.pdf?producer=CIExslfile=tryme.xsl but explorer send me a http error 404 - File not found Is there a configuration parameter that enable me to call a producer in this way?
Printing properties...
Can I set any printing property on my pdf-report? And how it affect to the printing of it? For example, can I set the border of the sheet, and can I force to the printer not to modify it??? PS printing
I'd like to generate a PS file (or much better, to send it to the printer)and not a pdf report. I use the RENDER_PS, but the format seem to bo incorrect... Do I have to transform it ?? Thank you Siete buoni, se potete
RE: PS printing
I have an application that generate a pdf report. But if I change RENDER_PDF with RENDER_PS, the PS file is not correct... I think if I can generate a PS file, it's because it's possible to generate PS files, so I hope to see them... Where can I know if it is possible? Anyone has tried to create a PS file directly for printing it? RE: PS printing
Excuse me... I'm using xsl with tables, stylesheet and an image. But what I can't see is the data. The PDF I generate is correct, but is not a file, but a data-flow to the browser. I can see it and print it correctly (even if I want to save it, I can. But this isn't the idea). But if I change it for RENDER_PS and I make the file (or I send it to the printer), I can't print it (the format is not correct), and if I transform it in a PDF (with Acrobat Distiller), the image is correctly set and some of the characters (lines, even an underline) are correct. Where can I found the files for past e-mails? And thank you very much!! Salve - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, email: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

RE: How to rotate text 90 degrees using fop, please help me???
In fact, I'm using Fop 0.20.1 and reference-orientation or direction are not implemented (yet, they say!!) Well, I am also looking for an answer, but unluckily. I have used reference-orientation but this is not supported by fop. I also tried embedding SVG but this also was refused by fop, both worked fine in Antenna XSL-formatter though. You need to be a bit more specific. Do you need the letters to appear the right way up but immediately below one another or should the letters be on their side. If the latter should they go down the page or up the page? I have had this working fine by using SVG text. (I was using it for the axes of an SVG chart) but this was six months ago. I remember looking into this and seeing that the relevant XSL:FO functionality wasn't implemented in FOP but this was a long time ago. Is there a function like concat for Strings. I have a param in the xml file (the path of a directory) and the name in the XSL file, so I want to create a full path with the path of the directory and the name of the file. Any Idea?? Salve Siete buoni, se potete

RE: Fonts
Thanks to all of you, really!! But I'm not using the example. In fact, if I try to use it, everything works, but when I move it to my servlet... It's really strange, because if I set any font, it appears with Times New Roman (the default one), but if I don't set it, it appears with Arial!!! Anyway, thank you! Salve P.S. I send you the right xsl: xsl:attribute-set name=style xsl:attribute name=font-size10pt/xsl:attribute /xsl:attribute-set With this style, the font is Arial If I set this one: xsl:attribute-set name=style xsl:attribute name=font-size10pt/xsl:attribute xsl:attribute name=font-familyVerdana/xsl:attribute xsl:attribute name=font-style/ /xsl:attribute-set (with Verdana or any other font), the font is Times New Roman. And if I set: xsl:attribute-set name=style xsl:attribute name=font-size10pt/xsl:attribute xsl:attribute name=font-familyVerdana/xsl:attribute /xsl:attribute-set there is an exception. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, email: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

A simple question: Hot to close acrobat??????????????????
It's not for this place, but... When I open a pdf-report on a IE I see it. OK. But when I close the IE, there is an acrobat.exe process still open... Any idea? thx
PDF Reports
I've seen the messages from november about it, and I tryied to make something like it, but I'va got two problems... This is my adaptation to the solution from Yuri Shkuro // ---// 1. Get a Source for XML document//---XSLTInputHandler inputHandler = new XSLTInputHandler(fileXML, fileXSL); XMLReader parser = parser = inputHandler.getParser(); // ---// 3. Create FOP driver and set rendering mode and output stream// ---objPfResponse.setContentType("application/pdf");Driver driver =new Driver(inputHandler.getInputSource(), objPfResponse.getOutputStream()); driver.setRenderer(driver.RENDER_PDF);driver.setXMLReader(parser);driver.render(parser, inputHandler.getInputSource());driver.run(); My first problem is: I can't see the pdf report, but if I try to save it, the file is correctand I can see it. Anyway, the name is set is a *.html, not a *.pdf (though it is saving as an Adobe Application File...). And the second one is that I see an FOPException like this: using SAX parser org.apache.xerces.parsers.SAXParser building formatting object tree setting up fonts [1] Parsing of document complete, stopping renderer Initial heap size: 97331Kb Current heap size: 97265Kb Total memory used: -66Kb Memory use is indicative; no GC was performed These figures should not be used comparatively Total time used: 359ms Pages rendererd: 1 Avg render time: 359ms/page org.apache.fop.apps.FOPException: InputSource is not set. at org.apache.fop.apps.Driver.run(Driver.java:496) But everything is ok, because the file is well-formed adn I can see it (after saving it, of course). Problems with seeing pdf-files in IE 5.0
I'm trying to see a pdf-report, created dinamically with an XML-XSL process. But if I try to see it with an IE 5.0, I see just a blank page with an icon. If I try it with an IE 5.5, I can see it with no problem. Why is it? And there is a solution, because I cannot change the browser to 5.5? thx Raul Carazo
