Not to derail your comments, but...

Personally, I think that this is a flaw in web browsers and that they
need to be improved to allow you to copy text from anywhere within an
anchor tag instead of only allowing you to click it (or some other
link-type action). There are many times when I would like to highlight
text that is part of a hyperlink but have to finagle it in some fashion.

[fossil-users] Tech-note timeline commits

2017-07-04 Thread jungle boogie

Hi All,

At this link, you'll notice the brackets containing the sha hash are not
apart of the link:

https://www.fossil-scm.org/index.html/timeline?n=50&y=e&t=&ms=exact

Compare that with regular commits here:
https://www.fossil-scm.org/index.html/timeline?y=ci

Now I greatly prefer the former, because when copying the hash with the
mouse, I can skip the closing (]) bracket, since I usually start
right-to-left.

I remember some discussion about the brackets being apart of the URL,
and I'm not suggesting we re-visit that, just pointing out a difference
between tech-notes and commits.

Thanks,
j.b.
