To Mail List, Regarding item 2) FoxView , I am not sure if it will support the message line of the Operator Message Interface package. The FoxDraw libraries do not have any of these Message line elements. We currently use AW/WP51B's with Display Manager and the Legacy Historian. Our CP's are fault tolerant CP40A's. We have 5 nodes connected via Carrier Band LAN. We can not shut down all nodes at once, since this system controls two 600 megawatt coal fired power generators. Questions? 1. Do all of the nodes need to be converted at one time to 6.2.1 or can some nodes exist at 4.3 while part of the node is at 6.2.1? 2. Can we continue to use our Display Manager displays, or do we have to change to the Fox View displays? 3. Can we continue to use the Legacy Historian at version 6.2.1, or do we have to convert to the AIM historian? 4. Is there a different CP image at version 6.2.1 that requires a reboot of the CP for this upgrade? Thanks for any guidance that you can give, as we are looking to see what windows of opportunity we have for doing this type of upgrade. Second Ethernet Port on the AW51D Speed setting
List Members, I have an AW51D and have set up the second Ethernet Port. The hardware in question looks Like a FastSCSI/UTP 10/100Mbs Ethernet Interface Card and resides in PCI slot 1.( There are No Foxboro part numbers on this card). I have connected it to a pc running Xterminal emulation Via a hub and managed to get remote display manager operational. However if I install this In the factory, I cannot ping any other stations on the Cisco switch. If I connect via the hub then To the switch it is fine. It looks as though the problem lies in the fact that the interface card is Running at 10 Mbps. How can I get this card to run at at 100 Mbps? Thanking you in advance. egards, Freddy Why AFH Devers - Engineering Services South Africa A division of Protea Data Systems Email Address: [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Website: http://www.protea.co.za http://www.protea.co.za Telephone Number: (+27) (11) 719-5750 (Direct) (+27) (11) 719-5700 (Switchboard) (+27) (82) 7747845 (Mobile) (+27) (11) 887-8757 (Fax) Address: 26 Sixth Street, Wynberg, Sandton P.O.Box 707, Bramley, 2018 The information transmitted is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or privileged material. RE: Foxboro's API
Stan, There is a helpful hint out on the auto start of OSI PI refer to HH 944. My problem I had is that this programme is specific to a specific FoxAPI Version. .This varies according to I/A version and any subsequent program you load that workUitilizes FoxAPI like FoxHistory I had to get a specific version of libfoxapi.so for it to work. This product interfaces to Foxboro using Foxboro's API , I have been readeing the docs on this, and am pretty puzzled. The dpc's talk about things like aiststs, and /opt/fox/ais/include .h files, and libraries to link inot your application. Now on our machines, I can only find a bind directory under /opt/fox/ais, and it does not contain for isntance aistst. So, the question is, can this be purcahsed in avrous levles, such as a run time only package to use with PI, and a developer's package with all teh bells and whisltes? Or has it just somehow failed to be properly installed on our machies? -- Stan Brown [EMAIL PROTECTED] 843-745-3154 Charleston SC. -- Windows 98: n. useless extension to a minor patch release for 32-bit extensions and a graphical shell for a 16-bit patch to an 8-bit operating system originally coded for a 4-bit microprocessor, written by a 2-bit company that can't stand for 1 bit of competition. - (c) 2000 Stan Brown.
