RE: upload timeout errors

2001-09-26 Thread Airhart, Chad M.

We have tried uploads with Foxwatch logged in monitoring processor and RAM
usage and we have tried it with API shutdown and traffic minimized as much
as possible. Occassionally we may get one or two stations to upload but
never a complete upload. We have 5 CP40 pairs (4 A's and 1 B), an AB
Station and two Modbus modules. We have upgraded our RAM on our host AW to
256 MB and our hard drives to 9 GB based on Foxboro's recommendations, all
to no avail. I assume Foxboro is still working on the problem. We haven't
really heard from them since the hard drive upgrade a few weeks ago.

To be honest, I'm not sure.

I know it varies with the Control Station type (CP-10/30/40/60, CmP-15/30,
 AW-I, microI/A, etc)

If I was dealing with this issue, I would compare the performance across
 the
stations while uploading and see if I could determine that.

I also suspect that it is linked to the amount of broadcast traffic in the
plant. This is harder to analyze without FoxWatch, but it should be
 examined.

RE: upload timeout errors

2001-09-24 Thread Airhart, Chad M.

We have had this same problem for over 2 years now. Various field service
people and TAC have looked at it and been unable to determine the root of
the problem. We have upgraded our RAM, upgraded our hard drives all to no
avail. So far Foxboro has been little to no help in resolving the problem.
It has been extremely frustrating.
