Thanks Steve... this isn't an off-line activation, it's just a "different"
online activation.

My software provisioning people are conference calling with Adobe Product

Hi John,

Maybe a few aspects of the replies by Peter Gold and others went unnoticed.
Maybe my suggestion already fails at step 1, but would the be following be an
option?

#1
Ask IT for a spare computer with a local admin account. That computer doesn't
need network or internet access at any time.

#2
Install FM11 from the original install media and start a 30-day trial.
No internet connection is required for that. (I've been able to the same on a
virtual machine without internet access, using my original Adobe Technical
Communication Suite 4 DVDs.) FM appears to be fully functional during the trial
period.

#3
Save all your .book and .fm files in MIF 7.0 format and any other formats that
might be useful.

#4

Re: [Framers] CSH HTML5 from Frame 2017 How should the Developers call the help pages

2019-02-13 Thread Jeff Coatsworth
The "engine" that drives FM's publishing of HTML5 outputs (and WebHelp) are all
RH under the hood - much like the "headless" version of Acrobat you get in FM.

Subject: [Framers] CSH HTML5 from Frame 2017 How should the Developers call the
help pages

I want to create CSH for HTML5 in Frame

I have Frame 2017 (no robohelp)

I have used the help, as well as the Adobe FrameMaker forum and found all
the information about this.

I saw how to add the markers, use the h file etc.

The one thing is that not clear to me

What must I tell the programmers to call so that they get the correct help
pages?

Someone wrote in one of the threads on the forum that they must use

output-path>/index.html?rhcsh=1=

= content of corresponding TopicAlias Marker.

However, this includes robohelp code

Is this correct for someone who is only using Frame?

I have searched everywhere but not found the correct info to give the
developers. I just need this missing link and we will be ready to go.

Is anyone making CSH for HTML5 from Frame (2015/2017 upwards) only?

[Framers] Framemaker menue pods not moveable anymore

2019-02-13 Thread André Bönat

Hi, there,

here my setting: FM 2015 and 2017, fully patched in Windows 7, Pro 64
bit, in a virtual machine (Parallels Desktop, 14.1.1 (45476)). OS is Mac
OS High Sierra, 10.13.6.

After upgrading Parallels Desktop from version 12 to the actual version
I'm now unable to move the FM menue pods anymore. After resetting the
workspaces I can only grab the pods one time and move them, after
placing the pods they are now stuck at the new position. When I try to
move them again, they move only a tiny fraction of a mm at a time, a bit
unnerving. Googling this problem got me nothing so far. Has anyone
expirienced this problem and has a solution to this?

Also the Adobe and Parallels forums got me nothing.

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,

André Bönat
