RE: Strange behaviour of anchored frames inserted at insertion point with distance 0 pt above baseline
Hi I cannot figure out why some of my anchored frames are placed above the insertion point in stead of at the insertion point. It seems that whenever the frame starts on a page I have this problem. When I have a sentence above the frame there is no problem. Can you tell me what is causing this behavior? Re: anchored frame alignment with insertion point
You can align a selected inline (at insertion point) anchored frame with the same keystroke combination that you use to move selected graphic objects, Alt+arrow. You can also specify the frame's position above or below the text baseline in the Anchored Frame dialog box (use leading minus for moving down). This same Alt+arrow technique works to move selected text above or below the baseline, or left and right. Re: anchored frame alignment with insertion point
Aravind, No attachment came through, but I think I understand your goal: graphic alignment at the level of indentation of the surrounding text. We achieve this by having the graphic inserted At Insertion Point in a special formatting paragraph we call Spacer. The Spacer format has tabs at each possible indentation level. So, after you insert the graphic, you just back-arrow to get left of the graphic, and tab over as many times as desired. Hope that helps! If not, send me the attachment so I can more clearly grasp the issue. Rene L. I have a cover sheet with a graphic on the master template. This graphic is causing weird problems. When I print text over it, I can't format it with the paragraph designer, only the character designer. When I try to use the paragraph designer, it says, No Insertion point even though I have the text highlighted. Any ideas? It sounds like you are using the "A" tool to "print text" over the graphic. That tool does not permit use of paragraph tags. If you want to use pgf tags, insert a text frame. Hi, Gillian: There's likely no text frame on the body page. The text is probably created with the Text Line tool, the "A" tool in the graphics tools palette. You can select this hybrid text/graphics object by: * Dragging a selection marquee around it; take care not to drag background graphics and objects. * Ctrl+Click on it to select it. You can select the text by: * Click an insertion point in it and drag * Double or triple click in it Read more about Text Lines in FM online help. Your options are: * Format this text directly or by creating a character format and applying it to the text * Create a text frame with the text frame tool ("mini page icon") in the graphics tools palette * Double click inside the frame and type to create paragraph-based text. * Select the frame with Ctrl+Click, and drag a side or corner to adjust the size and position of the text frame * Apply a paragraph format to each paragraph in the text frame.
