[Frameworks] Elf 16mm projector

2012-05-18 Thread Kevin Timmins

Hi Frameworks,
I purchased an Elf projector some time ago and I discovered that it was missing
some belts (two I think). Here is a link to some pictures:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/73172807@N06/?uploaded=2magic_cookie=4bf21de9f77e9f1a52dbdb154e759a2b
Can anyone tell me what belts I need to find/ where to get them.
All the best and thanks in advance! Kevin

You're missing the round shutter pulley belt. The two grooves in the pulley
is to switch film speed or 50/60 Hz.

From the state of the main drive belt, I'd replace that as well. You mind
as well replace all belts with a whole new set, including the
feed and take-up.

Where are you located?

Richard Pattchetts has a large collection of new-old-stock Eiki belts. He
is located in Michigan USA.

It appears your projector needs five belts, but you should check the
picture against your machine to verify.

The eBay listing does not say anything about the main drive belt, which
is the timing belt with teeth, the one you
have is discolored and turning yellow-brown.

Shutter/motor pulley
Feed
Take-up
Rewind (this is on earlier machines, later model Elf/Eiki projectors do not
have this, they use a clutch not a belt for rewind)
Main drive belt (not listed in the eBay post).

Ask the seller if he has the main drive belt. If not you can run yours
until it falls off, but you would be better to replace them
all at once.
