Boot failure mounting FreeBSD-8.0beta4 DVD
Dear Sirs After I had downloaded 8.0beta4 amd64 and recorded it on DVD on my Linux, I dont get booting this OS from DVD. installing i386.rpm files on fbsd-amd64
I need to put my printer to work and its driver finishes as i386.rpm files. LPRng-3.8.A on FreeBSD-7.0amd64
Trying to compile the latest version of LPRng (3.8.A) compatible with all plataforms, I got an error: $ sh STANDARD_configuration #make clean all install #make: don`t know how to make AM_CPPFLAGS. Stop I`ve ever upgraded native FBSD-7.0amd64 gcc version-4.2 to the latest gcc-44 but the failure lingers on. Disk Label Editor problem
I installed FreeBSD-7.0amd64 on my 40GB disk and I chose automatic partition at disk label editor. I need to download a 665GB OS but at a given moment the system complains about lack of space on the disk (469GB). unable to upgrade to 6.3-R
Trying to upgrade my FreeBSD-6.1-R to 6.3-R, I followed the schema of Colin Percival at FreeBSD site. The matter is that when I type sh freebsd-update.sh -f freebsd-update.conf -r 6.3-RELEASE upgrade, as root I got freebsd-update.sh: Directory does not exist or it is not writable: /var/db/freebsd-update My FreeBSD-6.1-R runs some important libraries and just one interface is installed (X window system) I left out Gnome and KDE, i. e, not all the 0S is installed. Would it be necessary to install everything? Hi, everybody! My box runs FreeBSD-6.1-R amd64 and I need to print an important doc; its driver when uncompressed features i386.rpm files and linux_base-fc4 is not at /usr/ports/emulators.. What should I do? Shall I have to update all the OS in order to setup linux_base-fc4 or shall I have to upgrade by using another command? Yesterday, I run CVSUP and I followed all the steps to upgrade FreeBSD but...linux_base-fc4 was not at /usr/ports/emulators! You have made a magnific work and despite of being a linux user for nearly ten years I decided to use FBSD too. The system is well documented and I've learned to love it. 32bit apps on FreeBSD-6.1-R amd64
Hi, everybody I own a Canon iP1600 printer and its driver was made for linux i386. What should I do in order to run this driver on FreeBSD-6.1-R amd64? I've heard of upgrading to 6.2 in order to retrieve linux_base-fc4. Just this?
