[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #14846] Help browser bug (mac)

2009-11-28 Thread Andrew Hoos

Follow-up Comment #5, bug #14846 (project freeciv):

I dowloaded it again and reinstalled it. I also tried removing the vree civ
app/folders and reinstalling neither worked. I also tried compiling freeciv
using darwin ports, but that freeciv did not function either. The self
compiled freeciv did not function (it did not display text only boxes[]) .
the self compiled x11 freeciv properly displayed text in the main menu but
did not properly display the in game help browser. It printed black smudges
instead of text.

[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #14134] Close RT tracker

Update of bug #14134 (project freeciv):

Priority:7 - High => 1 - Later
  Status:None => Confirmed
 Assigned to:  dmarks => None

Follow-up Comment #3:

It seems I managed to close down all queues but 'Incoming' - which
unfortunately means it's still possible to create new tickets. I think this
is as far as I can get.

OTOH I haven't seen a new RT bug for months so people must have gotten the
message. Lowering priority as a result.

Excellent work, I think this is exactly what we need.

Would you mind if I put this package on our download server? (

[Freeciv-Dev] Freeciv 2.2.0-beta1 coming up

2009-11-28 Thread Daniel Markstedt
Hi all,

I am planning to create the first beta release of Freeciv 2.2.0 on
December 13th. This will be the first in a series of approximately
bi-weekly beta releases leading up to a release candidate when all
showstopper bugs have been fixed. The date for the final release is
not set yet and based on earlier experience it might take several
months.

Please note that there is no string freeze in place yet for the S2_2
branch, so it is likely that strings change throughout this process.
However, your input is valuable so please do start working with the
new strings and report any oddness or untranslatable situations to the
bug tracker at https://gna.org/bugs/index.php . The earlier problems
are reported the earlier we can fix them and make work easier for you
guys the translators. :)

Best,

Daniel Markstedt

[Freeciv-Dev] Freesound soundset (was: Freeciv 2.1.10 released)

2009-11-28 Thread Daniel Markstedt
Hi again Gavin,

I read your original announcement again and noted that you stated
there that the files are covered by the Creative Commons Sampling Plus
1.0 license, which is good news. My suggestion is that you create a
file named COPYING which includes the full text of the license as it
appears here:

http://creativecommons.org/licenses/sampling+/1.0/legalcode

In addition, my reading of the 'Attribution' clause of the license is
that you're obliged to somehow give credit to the authors of the files
when you distribute them. Such information usually goes into a file
called AUTHORS, according to open source convention.

Then put these together with a README file in the root of the
distribution package and we're good to go. :)

Best,

Daniel

[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #14855] Rename foreground -> text in inputline

Details:

In the inputline toolbar, the label "foreground color" isn't entirely
self-explanatory. I think "text color" is more easy to understand. Simple
patch for trunk attached.

[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #14854] Inputline toolkit colors should have default value

___

Details:

Mac OS 10.6.2, GTK+ 2.18.2.

The inputline toolkit colors should have some reasonable default values.

At the moment it seems they start out as 'null', making the "Color" button
having no effect whatsoever from the outset while the foreground and
background buttons appear broken since they have no icons.

I suggest these default values: fg="#ff" bg="#00"
