That's a lot of changes! I've posted a news item about this on the FreeDOS website. There are too many changes to list them all in the news item, so I highlighted the ones that looked like most people would see the improvements, or would help the most people. I've also mirrored this at the FreeDOS files archive at Ibiblio. ___ Freedos-devel mailing list Freedos-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/freedos-devel

As Liam pointed out elsewhere, this is called thread hijacking and is considered rude to everyone. If you want to talk about a different topic, please start a new thread so everyone can follow it. I was very confused to see a conversation about TRCH (repeated without context from the BTTR forums) in a thread about the Blocek editor. I almost missed this TRCH conversation because I don't use Blocek so I wasn't following the thread. ___ Freedos-devel mailing list Freedos-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/freedos-devel

While not a clone of TR, VSTR (part of V8Power Tools) will convert case along with several other things. Mostly some of text related functionality similar to several Unix/Linux tools that are needed by the OS installer. Things like search and replace, stripping indentation and blank lines, return fields for lines, etc. Being part of V8PT, it is installed with BASE and FULL. It is also available when booting the LiveCD. :-) Jerome ___ Freedos-devel mailing list Freedos-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/freedos-devel
Re: [Freedos-devel] New version of text editor (and image viewer) Blocek
Hi! Hello, few days ago I released the version 1.7 of my text Editor Blocek. Great news, I was already waiting for an announcement here or on Jim's channels :-) + many improvements in the graphical user interface (GUI) ... + the scope of the Search or Search and Replace functions can be limited to text block only :-) + Now can work even with graphic cards with non-continuous video memory (like GeForce RTX 2060) Is that "RAM line length differs from pixel count" or more complex? + now can fixate the word-wrapping not only for the whole document but also for selected block only. Fixate as in freeze? Or can it re-wrap to some (selectable?) width? Regards, Eric PS: I noticed that Jim's TRCH only translates one char at a time, do we already have a variant which is as powerful as Linux "TR", supporting for example TR 'a-z' 'A-Z' or TR -d '\n' and so on? Non-DOS Notepad++ text editor also juggles with upper/lower case. ___ Freedos-devel mailing list Freedos-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/freedos-devel
