Re: [Freedos-user] Ibiblio blocked as malware site

2014-01-01 Thread dos386
Hi

(somewhat late and somewhat related)

0. I didn't notice any problems with ibiblio (apart from already
discussed bad directory timestamps)
http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/micro/pc-stuff/freedos/files/

1. for years until now I've been having issues with
http://users.ohiohills.com/fmacall/ ... worx or not depending from
what location or using what proxy I access it

2. freedos.org still doesn't work without the www

3. http://www.freedos.org/links/ many links are DEAD or have issues :

- drdos.org (moved)
- Access DOS Menu (dead)
- RAR for MS-DOS (better link to UNRAR DGJPP port?)
- Avaya DOS Wi-Fi drivers (dead)
- Programming (FASM missing)
- NASM is redirected
- Goodie Domain Service - is a mirror of ibiblio ???
- An inside look at DOS (dead)

Hi,

It seems like they've fixed this by now.

If you have tried to visit the FreeDOS archives at ibiblio in the last

 serving malware.

AFAIK, the warning was only appearing in Chrome and Firefox. I also
tested Opera, but it had no issues.

Looks like it. Eric S. Raymond's blog is hosted on Ibiblio, and I got
a malware screen trying to reach it, but the screen was gone the
second time I tried.

Chrome and Firefox both use Google data to flag malware sites. Older
versions of Opera based on thier proprietary Pango rendering engine
don't, I suspect newer versions, based on Google's Bling fork of
Webkit, will.

My understanding from the site administrators was that it was a WordPress
injection.
