 Also, I've tried to update to the latest CVS

 (because Mr. Nixon have told earlier that the postgresql driver was
 fixed in CVS), but Floating point Exception occurred.

OK. Well, please give us more information about this problem (Back trace etc)
so that we can try to fix it.

User-Name and Clear Text Password configurations

2007-05-12 Thread Diameter K
Hi All,
   I want to send out Authentication Request message with only the
User-Name and Password. Moreover i want the password to be clear
text.
  Is it possible to configure the free-radius server for just
these requirements?
  I did configure the username and password in the users file
but server seems to be looking for a encrypted password and is thus
sending back a reject.
Any way to configure a username and a clear text password?

Thanks in advance,

MySQL Attirbute Order

2007-05-12 Thread Frosty

I am creating a custom web interface for my work and just wanted to put
forward a simple question.

When inserting data into the radreply or radgroupreply tables, does the
order of the attributes matter?

All the attributes are present and correct, but would it matter if say,
Frame type attributes came before or after the Tunnel attributes?

You can use CHAP to authenticate and ensure you send clear text from your
access point but not EAP.
You can see what you are receiving if you do
radiusd -X

   Well, yes.

I liked the pretty text ?!
 Still with completely vanilla install ,
 only getting

  [req] = 5000
  [parallel] = 10
  [total] = 5
  [start] = 1178820825.99
  [stop] = 1178820836.79
  [period] = 10.791821003
  [req_s] = 4633

   That's pretty low. I'm a little surprised, in fact. I was getting
 that performance almost 6 years ago on machines available then.

Yes it's worryingly low,

This is with the G5 optimisation compiler flags passed to GCC...
Though i'm not sure it's taking them ...

should just be

env CFLAGS=-O3 -mcpu=970 -mtune=970 -mpowerpc64
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/freeradius-cvsfast

make
make install ...

But the configure script doesn't seem to take notice of the CFLAGS env
variable , so does not pass the flags to the compiler at build time.

Have you had anyone else running FreeRADIUS on a G5 feed back about
performance ?
 localhost to localhost

   Try from one machine to another. Maybe the client server are
 competing for resources on the same machine.

Will try machine to machine on monday, or later today if I have time,
though I suspect the performance will probably be worse.

top reveals that radclient is running at about 70% utilization and
radiusd at 104%.

These boxes are not under any kind of load and have a pretty vanilla
install of Mac OSX Server 10.4.9.
Can't figure out why it's so slow.

freeradius for windows + mssql problem

2007-05-12 Thread rodolfor

Hi all.
I have installed freeradius for windows (www.freeradius.net) and it works
well.
Now I want to connect the service to an mssql database in the same machine.
The error I receive (starting in debug mode) is (using mssql.conf):

rlm_sql (sql): Could not link driver rlm_sql_unixodbc: No such file or
directory
rlm_sql (sql): Make sure it (and all its dependent libraries!) are in the
search path of your system's ld.
radiusd.conf[10]: sql: Module instantiation failed.

Could someone help me ?

thanks

Similar to earlier versions of FreeRADIUS.net we claim _no_ support for
any external Databases (namely mysql).

Read the front page of the port your using before posting to the list ;)

 Take a look at rlm_counter/rlm_sqlcounter (I don't know if it's

 example, in the case of MySQL, in sql.conf.

 I'm not a guru, but it can be useful for starting looking for some

 Hi All,

 I would like to create a user account which only allow user to use
 for 1 day. Once the user has been authenticated, the time will be
 start counting and ended after 24 hours. Although the user didn't
 fully used up their session time, radius still will reject user to
 login.

 Can any expert give me some suggestion on how to create this user
 account?

 Thanks

 Aren Chua
