Hi Jason,

I am sorry, but I do not know how to write games to play over the net. Maybe
someday, but it could not be the type where I would need to keep a dedicated
server to do it as I could not afford to do that. And to tell you the truth I
have never ever played any on line games, not even back in the days of the on
line BBS door games. The closest I have come to that is playing rounds of golf
at FTP.

 Hi triston.

I have a question about the ace games logd server.

Logd was the first online rpg game I played, over on the original Logd
 server at http://pqcomp.com/logd/

I'd get up to about 3-6 Dks' and then stop playing.

Each year, I'd get a longing to play logd again, head back for 3-6's Dk's,
and check out all the new and improved features of the game.

However for the past two years i believe, there've been no improvements or
new features added to that Logd server.

so, is Ace games running a later version? the version over at Compt.com I
believe is version 1.10 dragon prime edition. of the game, is ace games
 running a later one?

If it is, I might well give the game a try, though I'm afraid I'd have to
see how dedicated I'd become to the game before deciding whether or not to
 become a mod.

Beware the Grue! (a lot worse than the green dragon!).

 Dark.

I've found a problem which still apparently hasn't been fixed. If you
are carrying at least one sword, you can stand in one spot, and the
skull will roll right past, not attacking you, but not being destroyed
either.

Thanks for reminding me of this issue. I've seen it before, but was busy
working on other things and forgot to work on this one. I'll put that
one in the next update.

Quote
Also, is there supposed to be anything different in how the
bonus level works? It appears to work just like a normal level.
End quote

Yes, there is one diference. Bonus levels only give you one chanse to
complete them. If you die during a bonus level you will be immediately
transported to the next level up Also bonus levels are not saved as
standard levels are. So bonus levels are important in adding to your
over all score because you get one and only one chanse at them per game.

Hi Raul,
By chanse do you have a screen reader running in the background while
playing Monty? I've not noticed it jumping to the system menu when all
screen readers are unloaded. Only when a screen reader is running in the
background.
As for the system menu itself I am trying to figure out how to disable
it, and for some reason I haven't found out how to do this yet.

Raul A. Gallegos wrote:
Well, I played Monty for a bit and got a score of 258000 or there about

noticed so far is how if you press the alt-arrow keys for jumping, the
system menu of the program comes up. Not sure if this has to do with the
keyboard handling that Tom already mentioned he would work on, but other
than that things are proceeding nicely on this Vista machine.

 Great work Tom.

Alright, that was what I was thinking about too: no spikes. It may be caused
because while jumping there's a wall or door in the way (at least that's
what I sometimes noticed). But it has also happened when jumping close to a
non-burning rope. It's much like the dying in the trailer at USAGames.us.

[Audyssey] New mobile phone games!

2007-10-07 Thread ari
Hi all,
Am quite excited about this one. There are three accessible Wap games available
at the following site
wap.worddial.com
They are: Top Gun, a game where you play against other users at war trying to
shoot down their planes, a Kungfu game, and another one where you are a
merchant. Sorry if this posts sounds vague, have not really looked closely at
these, but my friend who is also totally blind has been playing them
successfully without any problems with Mobilespeak for weeks, and I haven't
tried them properly, but friend says, and on first looks it seems as if they
are absolutely 100% accessible.
Enjoy!

[Audyssey] Monty and torches

2007-10-07 Thread Raul A. Gallegos
Hi. It seems that things are frozen in time when you view the map. For
example, if there is a monster in the room, I can view the map and the
monster does not move. I'm wondering if there is a bug with the torches
because if my torch is lit and I view the map, the torch timer continues
and it eventually dies out.

Another problem similar to torches is the dark rooms. It seems that if
you have mo more torches left, when you press the O key, you still get a
list of objects in the room. In the particular case I was in, there were
some gems. Of course the sound for them was not played because the room
was dark, but by jumping around in the room, I eventually got them. So,
my question is if this is the way it's supposed to work, or if this is a
bug. I am fine either way, but just thought I'd point that out.

Many thanks.

By chanse do you have a screen reader running in the background while

screen readers are unloaded. Only when a screen reader is running in the
 background.

It happened with both. I noticed it first while Window-Eyes was still
loaded, but then I had someone sighted look at the screen and she says
the system menu still comes up if Window-Eyes is not loaded and I press
alt-arrows or something similar.

It should have arrived by the time I am writing this post. I approved

Ok, that is exactly the kind of info I needed. Either one of two things
needs to happen. Either I figure out how to disable that system menu, or
move the run key to something else besides alt. Will take some
experimentation.
Thanks.

Re: [Audyssey] Monty and torches

2007-10-07 Thread Thomas Ward
Quote
It seems that things are frozen in time when you view the map. For
example, if there is a monster in the room, I can view the map and the
monster does not move. I'm wondering if there is a bug with the torches
because if my torch is lit and I view the map, the torch timer continues
and it eventually dies out.
End quote

You are correct the game is paused while you are viewing the map.
However, the torches aren't currently attached to a timer. It is simply
a long sound file that gets played once a player enters a room.
I suppose at some future date I might want to convert torches over to a
true timer based system that way you do get to pause them while checking
the map, or something else.

Quote
Another problem similar to torches is the dark rooms. It seems that if
you have no more torches left, when you press the O key, you still get a
list of objects in the room.
End quote

Oh, this is definitely a bug. Objects should not be showing up in dark
rooms without a lit torch. Thanks for bringing this one to my attention.
I'll add this one to the growing todo list for beta 3.

Subject: [Audyssey] Problem with FS Navigator

 Hi all,

Just wondering, I installed FSNavigator along with the FSUIPC module, not
sure where everything else is supposed to go like the TraphicLook.exe and
weather.txt and all these files, but it seems as though I can't get FSNav
started. When I press F9, nothing seems to happen. No windows come up, it
staies the same as it had before with just the sim window opened...

Re: [Audyssey] Monty impressions so far

2007-10-07 Thread shaun everiss
I never have this issue.
However in options when I click save I think the options screan
should close and you go to main menu.
So I save then escape out the menu.
the game works, but on restart the default options are loaded and I
have to do it all over again.
Is this a bug or is it part of the actual game.
