where do you download this game, I have java 6.03 here.

.bat-files are a sort of script-files that were common in the DOS
operating system and that can be used in Windows too. They are simple text
files containing commands in the command line environment.

The game itself is a roguelike game, meaning it's similar to Rogue, an
ancient predecessor to Nethack.

Monsters, items and geography in the gameworld are represented by
characters onn the screen. In modern roguelike games the characters are
often replaced by graphical tiles. I don't know if i.e. Jaws can be used
to label these tiles, but what I do know is that this particular game
(CastlevaniaRL) has a console mode, which in plain English means a text
mode.

I've found it to work in the Linux text console. Given that Nethack and
similar games seem to work with Jaws, I thought it might be possible even
for this game to work with Windows screen readers.

Hi Thomas,

Oh yeah, I hadn't even thought about all of the different balls in qwiditch.
Would be a great game to play for real. grin Really don't know how it could
be made into a computer game done by sound alone though. You know unless you
just do one aspect of it.

Head for Western Tysa, then Central Tysa. Head to Southern Tysa, then
Southeast Tysa. You'll ultimately wind up at a place called Crow Hill
outside Tryndmoor. The adventure pretty mch takes it from there, although it
consists mainly of stat and skill checks plus the more than occasional
fight.
Time is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so.

 Hey,
I am very happy to see that people are playing this game, and most
enjoying it. At the last second, it was decided that I change the timers
interval to 3000. Since no beta tester has gotten up to 19, this bug was
not spotted. The entire game has the same commands, left, right or down
arrow. Nothing changes at level 19 except the speed. I will relook and
fix the bug, I believe it may be the timer interval, or some typo in the
program. Daniel or Blindguy as we know him, asked me what does unlimited
support means. It means, you can email the rsgames email as many times
as you need. Nicol asked if it were better than SuperShot. I am not
trying to compete with SuperShot, however, in the end, I expect more
features than SuperShot has. Like I said, I am not trying to rip L-Works
off, SuperShot was discontinued, and is/was never my intention to
compete with any developer. Claudio asked me if I could make it easier.
It is so hard, because of the speed. A bug, however, somehow does make
it harder, because it disables or somehow interferes with DirectInput 8.
And, to Thomas Ward, I will use you suggestions, thank you for them. I
hope to have a patch out! Keep Shooting those Copters!!

Yes, it is already possible to invite aggressive AIs to a multiplayer game.
For now it is not possible to create multiple computer opponents with
aggressive AIs in single player maps, though.

Re: [Audyssey] Audyssey thread report for October 17 - 31 2007

2007-11-01 Thread Che
Good point Phil. If I may make a suggestion here, lots of these messages
were quick responses to an individual point or question, so at the end of
the day there would suddenly be like 5 or 6 messages from Thomas responding
to various posts. Something I did when I was getting a lot of Rail Racer
traffic on here was create one reply message, then jot down quick notes in
that message about each email I neded to respond to. That way, I was able to
go to the reply message after reading the days posts and send out one email
that covered all the items brought up that day.
This helped keep traffic to a minimum, as well as cut the time it took for
me to reply to questions and suggestions.
  Hope that all makes sense.
  Later,
 Che

Re: [Audyssey] Halloween adv available

2007-11-01 Thread Dark
I thought chasing the Dragon was rather cool, and no I don't mean the
chinese expression for taking drugs lol!

The only bit that mildly confused me, was once I got to southeastern Tysa, I
wasn't sure where to go from there, and just stumbled into Tryndmore and
Crowhill by mistake. I'm not sure if this is my fault for not reading the
text properly, or a miner miscalculation on the part of the Gm, sinse
obviously seeing on the graphical map that Tryndmore is father to the east
than Graldoc is a tad difficult.

but as his gmness as we call him on the sryth forum has been so good about
accessibility, I think it's more likely to have been my mistake, and I
don't know why I'm complaining anyway, sinse I obviously found crowhill in
time, even if I did check Eastern tysa, the Withering wood and Graldoc
first, but such is the life of an adventurer I suppose.

Beware the Grue!

Dark.

2007-11-01 Thread Tobias Vinteus
Hi,
I have only briefly played the first level. I'll give this game more
focused attention some day. However, I killed some of the wargs. I used
the a command and chose my weapon from the menu that came up. I didn't
try to equip anything or check what I had in my inventory though. Maybe
that would hav improved my odds.

After I killed the wargs the skeleton rib ended the life of Tobvin the
vampire killer.

[Audyssey] teraformers spoilers

2007-11-01 Thread shaun everiss
Hi all.
I need some serious spoilers for terraformers.
In poticular the main lab for the northh part of lab.
There are 2 more remaining computer parts.
How to get them is another issue.
in each room there are 2 bots.
well one bot in each room.
I can't seem to target them, even with sonar.
So I get shot, ok, I am in range but now no matter how many shots I
shoot I can not get the bots to get hit.
Not that there is a shortage of amo, I can retreat, however If I
could only get this part done I could move on.
Also once I get to the main computer room I keep getting shocked and dieing.
So I suspect I have a time limit but I can't seem to find the
required part slots, unless I need all parts.
Also in the flooded area, I can't find a second door.
I go through the first one and unlock the gate.
I go through but find no other door, I find 2 more parts but I don't
pick them up on sonar either.
Otherwise I have managed to finnish most of the game.
Are their any solutions files or something on the site, as I really
would like some help now.

[Audyssey] gamers chat

2007-11-01 Thread shaun everiss
I think we have some of these in new zealand to however not like in
the us though.
I was lucky to get silent steel.
I was lucky to get fs2002 as trying to get it in the usual way I get
things I can't buy was really just asking for timeout trouble.
Even so, I have not seen any of the sort of used pc stores, maybe its
all in town, but its to noisy really for me to go there most of the time.
I think we should set up another general chat list for gamers so we
can chat about things and go off topic also, would be good.

computers.
There also is a used computer store in Akron, I can't think of the name
of it right now, but they take in older computers and software refurbish
them and sell them for reasonable prices.

The rest you have to pay for although, again I have friends and since

[Audyssey] FW: [GMAGamesTalk] Next Game

Subject: [GMAGamesTalk] Next Game

This is not a game exactly, but we are well along in the writing and
user-testing of an accessible mud client. For those who are not familiar
with muds or mud clients here is an explanation.

A mud is normally described as a a multi-user online text based game. In
most cases, the actual game should be accessible, but the clients are either

under powered, inaccessible, or both. In most cases they require screen
reader scripts and take some time and technical knowledge to get going. The
client we are working on should allow a non-technical person to get up and
running aalmost immediately. Muds have many types of themes such as
medieval, Lord of the Rings, science fiction based, social, and so on.
There are hundreds to choose from and so it isn't hard to find something you

like. In general they are free, or nominally priced.

I can't say when it will be out, but it should be within the next two
months.

David Greenwood

I agree that there should be more. I asked on this list and
David said he had plans to release a new version of the game,
 but
no time frame was given. I also asked about the ability to
create our oown missions, maybe with a scripting language like
 is
possible with Loan Wolf, but he said nothing like that was in
 the
works. I wonder if tc will ever be able to be played across the
internet? Playing against the computer is great, but there is
nothing like matching forces with other humans.

Both Elite Force I and Elite Force II offer both, modes of play, but I

Also once I get to the main computer room I keep getting shocked and
   dieing.

Good beta, Tom! Am I mistaken? I think one of the changes is that we can
die if we fall off a ledge? I just tried it where there is a swinging vine

that keyboard response has quickened, but I cannot be totally sure of this.

 Hi all,

Just wondering, from this dark forest, where do I go? I thought
 there was
training or some such involved, trying to figure out how to progress
 and how
to move, I thought moving was similar to mudding...

Do you like mudding? Want to join a group of like-minded people for

Hi Thomas.

I like the game, but why do you remove the thing where you can jump and run
at same time?
All the best!
