Re: [Audyssey] audyssey magazine

Hi, unfortunately this is broken at the moment. I'm hoping to have it
fixed this month. To you and all the others on list, I apologize I've
not been around of late. With working and family, and things of that
nature, I have not been able to play games, let alone help manage the list.

Many thanks

[Audyssey] New Mud player

2009-02-19 Thread Blind Treasures
Hi, I just found this list and it sounds great. I'm hoping someone who
is using VIPMud can help me.
I am currently evaluating the game but hope to purchase it. I am
enjoying the mud games so far but would really like to be able to get
sound with my character but I'm not sure how to go about getting sounds
to work with VIPMUD.
If there is someone on this list who could guide me through this I would
be very grateful. Thanks for any help.

 Hi there:

I am currently playing a mud called Unwritten Legends (I will gladly pimp
this mud in another thread), and I would like to make some scripts and
macros that would help me with things such as foraging, combat,
 preparation
 for magic spells, etc.

I will admit that I have very very rudimentary knowledge in all things
scripting, so if someone might be willing to help me with a few queries
 and
frustrations so that I cna get on the right track, I would greatly
 appreciate it.

Firstly, there is roundtime associated with various skills. So if I
 thrust
my dagger at an opponent, a message that says 'roundtime: 3 seconds' will
come up. I have three seconds until I can perform another in-game action.

When I have finishd killing an opponent, I'd like to be able to skin the
corpse, put the skin in my pack, and search the corpse. There is,
 however,
a roundtime associated for those things as well. Roundtime is a great
thing, but with my very limited trigger-making skillls, I am uncertain of
how to begin making triggers that I can use without the next command
 getting
tripped up by left over round time.

There are other questions that I have, and I'd like to delve in to making
some sound triggers for this game. Not too many, just a few that might be
 beneficial.

I'd appreciate any assistance that you could provide.

 Happy gaming.

Hello,
I do not like mush client. I myself prefer vip mud because you can tab
between the input and output screens which helps when trying to remember how
to spell something. I also dont like, in mush client, how the prompt always
comes before the text scrolling on the screen.

Hi to all.
I've tried subscribing to the magazine only list both ways.
I tried with the word subscribe in the subject field and with a blank
letter.
Now usually when you subscribe to a list you get something to confirm
your

subscription. But no luck either way.
Hope this helps all of the other subscribers out.

I did make a mistake in listing the Raindrops game as blind accessible.
I should have listed, Runes, Use the Rune dictionary to translate possible
answers to riddles.

Select the correct answer and beat the clock.

Re: [Audyssey] New Mud player

2009-02-19 Thread Che

 Hi ya Tony,
There are good instructions on doing this with the client itself, if you
hit f1, then read about scripting you will be able to get a script up in no
time.

Then the command you want is:
#play mySound.wav
You want the sound to play whenever the game sees a particular set of
words in the game, like if you want to hear a sword swish when you swing and
the game outputs the following:

You cut through the airwith your longsword...
then you can set up a trigger like this:
#trigger {*cut through the air*}{#play swordSound.wav}

You can actually enter that right into the entry screen of vip mud, but you
will need to save it to a script that is loaded with your character,
otherwise you will lose the command when you quit the game.
Might sound a bit complicated at first, but once you get the hang of it,
adding sounds is a breeze.

 Later,
che

Hi, I just found this list and it sounds great. I'm hoping someone who
is using VIPMud can help me.
I am currently evaluating the game but hope to purchase it. I am
enjoying the mud games so far but would really like to be able to get
sound with my character but I'm not sure how to go about getting sounds
to work with VIPMUD.
If there is someone on this list who could guide me through this I would
be very grateful. Thanks for any help.

Re: [Audyssey] VIP scripting and roundtime for the beginner

2009-02-19 Thread Che
Hi, refer to the other mud post about getting started with scripting and a
trigger you can use for sounds.
As for the round time thing, you can set up a sound to play whenever the
round time is up if you want, this helps a lot in knowing when you can send
your next command.
If your roundtime is consistent, you can simply have the mud wait between
commands that amount of time, or you can grab the time and have it wait that
long before executing something else.
You can pretty much script anything you want with vip mud if you are
willing to take the time to do it.

 Later,
che

[Audyssey] word games from 7-128

2009-02-19 Thread John Bannick
Phil and Terrence,

Actually, you're both right.

The Tyler puzzle games that are BL rated are:
Kim's Game
Orchestra
Snowflake

The games on the PCS list that are not BL rated are:
Tippicanoe
Runes

The WOOPLE word games that are BL rated are:
Definitions
Scrambled Sayings
Synonyms and Antonyms

The games on the PCS list that are not BL rated are:
Word Jungle

The Inspector Cyndi in Newport detective games are all BL rated, just as
Phil has them.

Sorry for the confusion.
I double checked our Web pages, and they have the correct ratings.
Looks like I need a clearer way to present those ratings.

Thanks to you both for clarifying this.

And thanks, Phil, for posting our stuff to your list.

[Audyssey] Discussion of new hearts and hold em games on VIP Conduit tonight

2009-02-19 Thread Che
  Hi all,
I will be discussing my new online hearts and hold em poker games on VIP
Conduit tonight at 9PM eastern if anyone wants to come check it out and ask
questions.
The games will be officially released on March 1st, but i'm letting folks
play them now as I finish off some small code changes. The games allow up to
ten folks to play normal hold em or a sit and go style, and hearts is for 4
players, just like the usual game.
If you aren't registered with VIP conduit, it is easy to do so, just go to
www.vipConduit.com
and look for member guest login and you can register from there.
We will be meeting in the patio room.
  Later,

Hi John,
I thought the b rating was for blind.
I searched for a space b and a comma and came up with the blind accessible
games.

I'll check your ratings page to make sure.
