Re: [Audyssey] castaways, clearing land and gobblin access.

2011-08-04 Thread Jeremy Kaldobsky
If the Goblins have spread and are using a new area to enter the map, then yes,
they will continue to use it. Building anything right on the edge of the map
doesn't seem like a very good idea to me. That would eliminate any chance of
you seeing the attacking coming. Actually, I feel it would be illogical and
unrealistic if the building wasn't destroyed immediately. Setting a building
on fire isn't all that difficult, since the walls and floor of an empty tavern
are unlikely to fight back against a mob of attackers who have set it on fire.
The townspeople don't stick around to put out any fire because they would be
killed by the Goblins.

 Hi,
Something I've noticd about the goblins that seems to be
 problematic: once
they attack a certain square, they just keep coming back
 there. For example,
I build my  storehouse, at least usually, at A8. If
 the goblins get there,
it is immediately burnt down (which I do not see as logical
 or realistic;
then, if I try to rebuild, the yjust come back and burn it
 again, while I'm
 building it.

 Best Regards,
 Hayden

2011-08-04 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Michael,

Well, I would recommend trying SNES9x. The GUI interface is fairly
accessible as far as rom emulators goes, and I've been using it both
on Windows and Linux for quite a long time. It also seems to do a
fairly decent job with mmost Super NES roms, and I've spent plenty of
time playing Super Castlevania, Super Double Dragon, etc with it. So
give it a try.

Cheers!

Very sticky syrup is poured on the floor. It anchors the unruly kids in
place. After you give the waffles to the adults, you leave with your plates
of waffles. The wave that is approaching not only does away with the kids
who were causing the trouble, but it also cleans the syrup off the floor.
As for the waffle house, you don't need it anymore. The name of the place
was driving customers away most of the time, anyway. The Awful Waffle
should not have been used as a business attractor.

Lone Waffle 2.0:

After the destruction of your waffle house by the wave, you must use the
insurance money to build a new business. You go into a partnership with a
veterinarian. You are now in the business of creating dog food and snacks.
Bones for Super Dog, of course, are a top priority, but you also make treats
for very large dog guides. They are called, of course, woofles!

You must feed the woofles to the big friendly puppies without getting licked
to death or savagely beaten by their tails as they show excitement at
getting their snacks. Avoid their hot humid dog breath! If you can get
through a kennel in which the cages have had their doors removed while
having your pockets stuffed with woofles, you win the game. If you don't
win, you must eat one of the waffles you used to produce while playing
version 1.0.,

[Audyssey] dan's tech tip

2011-08-04 Thread Charles Rivard
(Article from my inbox)

Download Old PC Games For Free
direct link to article if you wish to look for your self.
http://www.fredshead.info/2009/09/download-old-pc-games-for-free.html
One of the things I loved about DOS games were the simple graphics. Not a big
seller in today's gaming market but for those of us with low vision, a low
graphics game can be easier to see.
MakeUseOf.com discovered some sites where old DOS games are still available and
some newer titles as well.
Abandonia
Abandonia is an index of abandonware, dedicated to classic DOS games.
Abandonware titles are games (or software) with expired copyright, or games
which are no longer supported by the publisher.
The site was founded in 1999, when the concept of abandonware was merely two
years old. After a few inactive years, it continues to blossom, with new
'abandoned' games added nearly every day. At the time of writing, the Abandonia
database hosts 1,063 downloadable games and counts a total of more than 100,000
members.
Most games get a thorough review, screenshots, an editor rating as well as a
user rating. You can browse and download old pc games by name, year, rating and
category. As the game's focused on DOS games, you won't find any of the 'newer'
abandonware games here, but the vast DOS archive should satisfy most of your
gaming needs, at least for a while.
Click this link to visit:
http://www.abandonia.com.
DOS Museum
Another DOS focused site, the name gives it away, is the DOS Museum. Their goal
is to preserve old DOS games and make sure they won't be lost over time.
Through one of their other initiatives, they try to encourage copyright holders
to make their work available, either for sale or as freeware.
With over 1,600 resources (although this includes various patches and
save-games) DOS Museum offers an even wider array of games. Through an easy,
graphical interface, you can browse the games by name, rating, date or
popularity. Although you won't find excessive reviews like on Abandonware,
basic information (usually in two or three sentences) is provided.
Click this link to visit the DOS Museum at:
http://www.dosmuseum.com.
Wikipedia
One of the best sites to look for an ex-commercial video game is Wikipedia.
That's right, on one of their pages, they keep a pretty up-to-date list of
abandonware (loose interpretation) titles.
The list shows less games than these other sites, but from a wider array.
You'll find games from 1988 to 2008, all of them with a short description, most
of them worth a try. If you think there's a game 'missing' from the list that
should be there, you can add it yourself.
Click this link to visit Wikipedia's List of commercial video games released as
freeware.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_commercial_games_released_as_freeware
Remain In Play
Another site that takes on a wider array of non-DOS games is Remain In Play.
This site refuses to take in abandonware and games that were free from the
start. They only focus on commercial games that were deliberately released as
freeware.
Even though site navigation is not optimal, they host plenty of great games,
both new and old. You might want to consider their 'top 10 games' in the
sidebar, for it is the only way of sorting titles by rating. Otherwise, you can
search their database by name, data (type), genre, or OS.

Games we'd like to play.
by Phil Vlasak.
Lone Waffle.
You are the owner of a waffle restaurant that specializes in serving one
enormous waffle at each meal.
You see one hundred patrons flooding your place, each demanding a
different meal.
Meal one:
You stand next to the stove, and as customers walk by, you toss waffles
at

them.
Meal two:
You need to serve waffles to a table of adults, but their noisy
rambunctious kids are running around threatening to knock you over and
spilling the plates of waffles.
Your mission is to find a way to stop the kids until they slow down so
you

can get to the adults and sink the plates to the table surface.
You are equipped with four waffle firing tubes and a long distance waffle
catapult or trebuchet.
If you make it through the hundred customers, your ultimate mission is to
take your waffles and run, as a giant wave is headed for your town and
could possibley flood your place.

Hi Dark,
I've never understood the whole Lone Wofl classification. Why doesn't it
qualify for the adventure category?

Re: [Audyssey] Any games for the IPod Touch 4th Generaation?

2011-08-04 Thread Alfredo

Hello,
The subject says it all, but I just thought I might ask for a web site
that might offer games for such a device and perhaps how I can find them
in the applications store.
