[Audyssey] Emailing social point
Hi was just wondering if this list would be interested in helping me get social point to make Monsters legends and Dragon city accessible amongst some of their other games that they make. I downloaded both games the other day and found out that they're somewhat accessible but you still can't get past the beginning tutorials. I emailed them and ask them if they would be willing to make their games accessible and they told me that that was not a path that they were thinking about going down in the near future so I was going to see if I could get more people to email them. It would actually be nice to be able to play a game everybody else on my Facebook page plays. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Re: [Audyssey] Emailing social point
To be honest more people mailing them won't make much difference and might even irritate them. I would recommend you try notifying them of the work A sharp have done and the podcast made by the developer of A Dark Room on accessibility modifications and how easy those are to add, sinse many sighted developers believe that access in their games means a complete redesign where for Ios at least it often can be done more easily. If however they have said not, odds are they won't change their minds, indeed I'm surprised you got a reply rather than the usual simple ignoring. I'd recommend just changing games and supporting developers who do care about access sinse unless it was a legal requirement some developers just wont' do it, and your better off expending your efforts on those who will. I had a similar experience earlier with starbase orion, and would now urge everyone who is interested in scifi stratogy on the Iphone to go and buy startraders elite instead of wasting time with the scumbag who makes starbase orion and has flat out refused to add access. Re: [Audyssey] st elite
My synthesizer says street elite. Based on the spelling, though, it must actually be saint elite., although I've never heard of that, either. The mystery continues. If it is something other than that, the developer making the announcement of it's not to distant arrival should spell the name of the game correctly. --- Be positive! Re: [Audyssey] ST Alete Comming in a Few Hours
Because you don't even indicate who you are replying to, I will comment here that it might not be hard for someone who knows what's being discussed. But for one, like me, who has been away from my PC for a few days because someone else was temporarily in need of one, and therefore doesn't know what's being discussed, I can only go by what I get from my screen reader and synthesizer. To eliminate the problem, try to be precise, at least to a certain extent. In this case, I heard street and I saw st, neither of which in no way resembles star. --- Be positive! Re: [Audyssey] Emailing social point
If I could get even 10,000 sales through a minimal expense of time and effort, such as in the case of an iPhone app, I'd do it if I knew about it through a friendly source such as a knowledgeable blind person who gave good suggestions on how to increase my customer base. This would be for only 1 game of possibly several, and the results would only magnify. --- Be positive!
Hi Charlse. Well this is why I believe independent developers are worth more in access terms than mainstream ones, sinse ten thousand sales is less than peanuts to the fat cat coorporations like capcom, microsoft or namco, but a great help to an indi developer, although there are some pretty big indi companies even so like the creators of haypy monster which has also not recieved any access fixes and is a pain in the arse to play, albeit it is vaguely playable with work and interpretation. This would be for only 1 game of possibly several, and the results would only magnify. --- Be positive! I would however urge everyone to give developers who are utterly unresponsive to access suggestions as many bad ratings on their games as possible. I'm only sorry you need to buy the games first sinse I would love to give starbase orion zero stars and write a review telling everyone who looks on the ap store what an utter git the developer is.. If possible, get some figures on how many handicapped gamers this developer won't get money from to show what a loss of potential revenue their ignorance of a market share they are blatantly refusing to receive. --- Be positive!
