There has been alot of updates to Cyberassault and I thought to mention some
of the more impressive changes we're brought in recently:
 
-Crafting: After years of development, we now have a fully functional
crafting system. Salvage raw materials from items you no longer want, or
prospect for materials and mines all over the wastelands, then find
blueprints that'll let you create new and "sometimes" extremely powerful
items using the materials you salvaged.
 
-Gun attachments: taking a page from shadowrun RPG, we now have scopes and
other attachments you can modify your guns with.
 
-Sentient Weapons: Over 200 melee weapons now are "sentient," meaning
they'll actually grow and level with your character. This means the more you
use them, the more powerful they become- the newbie knife may one day become
the Ultimate Weapon!
 
-Honing/sharpening for melee weapons: Melee weapons can further be improved
by using honing rods and sharpening stones.
 
Areawise, the new Deathmatch Arena is no operational and we've added a new
area called Easter Island.
Neo-Chicago has also received massive updates, with new and interesting
shops and a schoolhouse.

First a bit of news: the first stage of crafting is now playable on
Cyberassault.
There is currently over 20 projects to craft, with blueprints being added
every day.

the week.

[Audyssey] gamepad/controller question for EPSXe emulator

are connected to my PC via USB converter.

As Dentin stated earlier, MushZ is specific made for AA mud, so it's
unlikely to work well with any other mud without heavy customization. So
yes, you probably have to make your own soundpack and talor it to your
likings at this moment in time.

Cyberassault has a limited PVP policy, there's an arena, and a few selected
areas where players can attack others.
Generally speaking though, PVP almost never happen unless both party agrees
to it- the players seem to have a pretty good though none-written rule about
not being an ass when it comes to PVP.
RP is purely optional, the game has a lot of Shadowrun elements to support
RP if you like it, but generally people just play, explore, do various
jobs/quests, and build up their characters and wealth.
The game has a ranking system too, so it gives you something to strive for
if you are competitive.

Cyberassault, being a Canadian based mud, is most busy during daytime in
North America timezone, so if you're playing from the UK and log on and
can't find any help, it would be likely that most of us are...in bed...so if
that happens, just log back in in a different time period and your'e sure to
get help.
Generally, it's like John said, read helpfiles, ask questions on newb or
gossip, and have fun.

In short, little and none. In more detail: there are a few areas in which
you can pk, and a few ways to accidentally blow up other players. I have

Here some new and exciting updates on cyberassault!
-A handful of mining related quests- high demands for diamonds and dilithium
crystals in multiple areas and planets.
 
-Adjustment to several old quests to now allow those over level30 to take
part in them.
 
-A high level zone has been added, and there are a few very high level
quests related to it.
 
New area description from helpfile:

Min_LVL Req: Prog6+
Created By: Sparton
Running through the ruins of old Motown, the Mon River is a heavily toxic
body of water that connects this part of the world with the great
lakes to the north.
Ferries often travel this partly underground river way, carrying people from
the border islands to the mainland.
Aside from being toxic, the water also hides countless mutant creatures, and
not all of them are friendly.
The river courses through a series of caves and tunnels beneath the current
city of Motown, and unknown horrors lurk in those eternal glooms.
Most who venture into the tunnels and caves do not return, and thus, not
many people even know about them being there.

[Audyssey] for jim kitchen-question about .cfg files

[Audyssey] tts uninstallation help needed for windows 7 64 bit

[Audyssey] swamp, sapi speed issue

When I select sapi, it speaks super fast lol, I keep hitting page down to
slow it down, and while it says 'sapi slower' yet it stays fast no matter
how many time I jab page down.

[Audyssey] swamp tide damage thought

While I can agree that as a zombie, it is annoying to be killed in just a
few shots, I am finding the new damage reduction rather atrocious from a
human player point of view.
Here are these zombies, they spawn limitlessly, they hit super hard, they
run super fast, and they can track you down even when you stand still, and
now I can't even hardly ever kill one...tonight, I loaded with a browning
shotgun, a zombie came at me, I fired both shots, it was still coming, I
reloaded, two more shots, it still was coming, reloaded, one shot, and it
reached me, and before my next shot, I was dead lol.
Next round, I loaded with benelli, a zombie came at me, I fired all eight
shots, it still kept on coming, again, by the time I reloaded, I was dead.
Okay then, one more round, this time with glock. Zombie came at me, I fired
the clip dry, reloaded, fired it dry again, reloaded, dead...and that's when
I exited the game in frustration lol.
Am I whining? Yes I am, very loudly so.

My favorite game to date is probably Aprone's swamp...it is likely the first
and best of its kind IMO, it offers endless replay value, over 50 character
voices done by volunteers, a massive selection of weapons...and you can play
online with others or offline in the customized maps all on your own.
Lately he even added a player verses player mini game where one can either
be zombie or human and fight the opposite faction.
I grew up dreaming to one day be able to experience games like Resident
Evil, Paracite Eve, Silent Hill, House of Dead, etc, and Swamp has thus far
been a dream come true for me.
Also once you get used to using a mouse for gaming, and get a pistol-shaped
mouse like I did, man, the Swamp experience is divine.

We have made several change to the mud, please carefully read this as this

change will affect gameplay dramatically.

-Added applies to ammo: Before, when you scanned ammo, and it said it will

modify your damroll by 20, it wouldn't. This, due to laziness by previous
coders,

has been fixed. As a result, the next couple of changes had to be made.

-Loaded ammo: When you remove your gun, your ammo automatically unloads.
This

will prevent newbies from loading a gun, removing gear with +strength, and
then

not being able to rewield.

-Ammo on login/copyover/reboot: Before, your ammo would appear in your

inventory. This was a bit of a nuisance, therefore, now if you leave, quit,
or ther

is a reboot or copyover, the ammunition will re-load itself in the gun it
was supposed

to be in.

- Prior to now, sniping ethereal mobs would not damage them. This has been
fixed.

- Quaffing potions has now been phased out and the drink command will now

appropriately determine what to do with liquid based objects in
CyberASSAULT.

We have kept the quaff command in for those of you who are used to using it,
but

the drink code will now interpret what to do with them from here on in. You
may

notice some string changes associated with any object based psionic.

- Also, it has been noticed that drinking potions grants exp bonuses. Due to

obvious potential for abuse, this has been fixed and removed.

- Due to prior spam, all psionics involving objects had been removed. This,
I

have just realized, has broken the sends while wearing objects with psionic

affects attached to them. I have fixed this for now, but please let me know
if

you encounter any futher or needless spam as a result of this change.

- Drug damage types are now shown as toxic, instead of drug infested.

1. Would you like the ability to order the game on CD? This would cost 
something like 10 dollars extra including worldwide shipping.
-Answer: I prefer to just download it- less need to have that extra piece of
plastic laying about.

2. How much does the size of the game matter when it comes to the 
downloadable version? Is something like 300 MB too large?
-Answer: I got good download speed nad have room on my pC, so to me, the
bigger the better.

3. In what format would you prefer to have the manual? Narrated inside the 
game, available in text format, or both?
-Answer: Text format- the audio format is optional for me since I like to
have a document on the side I can check whenever I wish.

4. If the game contained cheat codes and you had to beat it in order to 
unlock them, would you want the ability to buy them for something like 5 
dollars without having to earn them? This applies to other unlockable 
content, as well.
-Answer: If someone is willing to pay extra to play those features, I
personally don't see why not.

[Audyssey] what's new on cyberassault

-Massive update on the pit fight simulation gambling function in the Ghost
Planet area- more moves, more personality, more fun.
 
-Massive update of the Terminator zone with larger area, more mobs and
items.
 
Combo bet testing has begun, and this is from the in-game announcement:
 

After much anticipation, change 1 of 3 of the new fight system is in place.

With this new update, we have added in combo moves. If you type the command
combo, you will be able

to see the combo moves that you have learned (up to a maximum of 10 for now)
and while we are beta

testing this new change, you will be able to see the last 5 combo moves
you've used during combat.

After you land a successful combo, it will automatically store into your
learned combo moves, this does

not mean you can only perform the first 10 you learn, but you will only be
able to remember on hand those

particular ones. Memory saves to playerfiles, so you will never lose them.
Also after landing a combo,

you will notice combat pause for a second, and then notify you with some
text in correspondence with the

move you have just successfully completed. These combo moves, although right
now do not show the appropriate

damage, will in fact do damage far beyond the damage of normal skills and
psionics, which is also based upon

your characters level.

The other change you might notice, is that all skills now only lag for a
couple of seconds. As we continue

to improve the combat system here at cyberassault, you will see some skills
lag even less over time. But due

to the ability to perform more skills over a shorter period of time, we've
also had to reduce the damage to

balance things out. I'd appreciate your thoughts and concerns in regards to
this, but i think you'll find

overall damage to increase a fair amount.

Also, skills that you use that do not show up on your combo command are
currently not part of the combo code

that i have developed. If you think that a certain skill has been
overlooked, please inform one of the

immortals, and we will begin to brainstorm its use in this combo code. Any
crash bugs or serious bugs

that have been found due to this new code will result in rewards, and as
always, if you have any questions

problems concerns or issues, please let me know.

[Audyssey] Swamp death/wound sounds

Just thought I bring this up again- since last time I mentioned this, the
response was that the issue wasn't big enough to really worth fixing at the
time...
No matter which voice profile you're using...female...male...when you get
hit/killed/bit...even though others hear your proper injured sounds, you
your self still always hear the default male wound/death sounds.
It's not a big issue gameplaywise, but does subtract to the overall feel of
the game somewhat- my girlfriend noticed that...she said...why am I sounding
like a guy when I am bitten?
:)
Maybe when creating a character there should be an option on gender, and the
game can select the proper sounds accordingly?

Hello gamers; At long last, the long awaited event reward system is fully
coded on Cyberassault!
Now when you take part in defending Earth during rift events, you receive
various shards: green, blue, and black- with green being the lowest grade,
and black the highest.T
hese shards can then be converted to shard points, which can then be traded
in for high powered items that you can't get any other ways!
Even better, if you do not find any of the green rewards appealing to you,
you can convert 5 green shards into 1 blue shard, and 5 blues into a black-
so no matter how you play it, there will be endless combinations and
possibilities!

Hi Lindsay, Cyberassault is easy to pick up, make sure you talk to mobs and
read a lot in the starting zone, and ask questions on gossip or newbie
channel.
My tip would be to put more points toward con and int during character
creation, and don't pick the crazy class for the first time- that class'
hard for new players.
Mercenary class is probably the easiest for beginner.

[Audyssey] Xmas season on Cyberassault and various updates

Xmas gifting has been turned on!
From now till Jan 1st, mobs will randomly drop gifts when defeated. These
gifts can be opened by the 'unwrap gift' command, and you may receive bonus
xp, superb items, units, practice sessions, or even extra hp and other
stats!
The more you kill, the more you'll get, so get cracking today!
 
Also new: Vehicles are now fully functional, with working gps units and fuel
calculation- some vehicles will even take you into space!
 
Global events: This from our help page:
Events are global quests that happen randomly or on a set hour.
The mud currently has four global events happening, ranging from hourly to
daily.
The rewards for taking part in an event is usually great.
For the first two events, see help rainbow and help lightsaber.
The third event is the tyranid invasion of Earth which takes place every
hour or so-
listen to radio 99 for the announcement when the event starts.
The last and biggest event is the brand new Rift Event:
Every so often, some outsider forces will try to invade this universe
through time/space rifts.
Players must find these rifts, close them using the close rift command,
and defeat the invading enemies.
When this event is on, typing eventinfo will display the status of the event
such as where rifts and enemies are.
Collect shards from this event to exchange for goodies/qps/xp later!
Note: The Rift Event can range from level10 to insanely tough enemies, so
make sure to check eventinfo before charging into battle!
Rifts cannot be closed until the room is clear of mobs

 
Newbie area changes: Newly created characters now have two exclusive areas
to play in with unique quests and recall point!
 
Area updates:
Terminator area now has a resistance HQ and alot more additional fames, mobs
and gear.
 
Tyranid Hiveship is now complete and is a very high level and challenging
zone to play in.

Hey Jim; Yeah the last two women said something about the space bar, but the
one to the north of second floor, and I think one to the west, didn't lol,
I'll try it again and see if it does the same- for some reason, after it
says the act begins...jaws pipes up and reads the name of the game...and
then you hear the music, but nothing else- no prompt about space bar.

Fantastic as always, almost made it out of the castle but got ran over cause
I forgot the phone...bleh...
There seems to be issues with sound files on the second and third floors
with some of the acts- the program would stop doing anything for almost 40
seconds before continuing/finishing the act...not sure why it's doing that.

[Audyssey] game recording help-need help with setting

Hey guys; How do I, or what do I have to, set up in the computer itself so
it will record is when I'm gaming? I seem to be able to only record things
through the external microphone- for example, if I plug in a microphone, and
then put microphone by the speakers, then it will record the game sounds
coming out of the speakers- but there must be an easy way of doing this?
I'm running windows 7, jaws 13, if that's any help.
Please help!

It looks like a very flexable set up- can almost take any old adult text
game and convert to that game format lol.
One thing I'd like to see is a bit more flexability with the interaction
with the characters- the way it is set up now you only can follow one path,
so once you play the game to its fullest, you likely won't play it again
many more times.
...and lol, the first thing I tried was to discard my mouth and
tongue...funny response!
BTW, I never did figure out what to do with the night gown...lol

Not sure about the MT part, but as to quests...some of lev15 ones are on the 
tough side if you're not suited up for them. Especially ones that require 
killing something. Pets make good tank though, buy one and use the order 
pet protect your name command and they can tank some of the hits for 
you. Also the fabricator 2e of recall sells buff potion that can heal you in 
combat.
As far as equipments go, ask on gossip will generall get good things 
marketed for you. The vending machine has great items, the logo rings for 
example, can be worn on multiple spot- if you get 7 of them that'd buff your 
character a great deal.
Also, at lower level melee fighting can be quite tough since you don't yet 
have the muscle power to do high damage, so energy weapons might be a good 
way to go- vending machine sells a basic energy gun, and I'm sure others 
would be able to market better ones if asked.

[Audyssey] cyberassault updates and announcement

Howdy folks; Since our July 4th event turned out so well, we've decided to add 
a few global events that's similar to the alien invasion hosted for that week.
Now in addition to the original token and lightsaber global events, the mud 
will randomly generate invasion forces for players who are brave of heart to 
deal with.
Currently there is two major global events:
The smaller one is a tyranid invasion which takes place every hour or so.
This event is friendly to people between level 10 to 40, and when it is on 
there are unique quests and equipments available- not to mention the tokens one 
get from these quests can later be exchanged for elite quest items!

The second, larger event is similar to that.
Every so often, enemies from other worlds will attempt to gain entry into this 
universe via time rifts opening in various zones. Players must find these 
rifts, close them, and deal with the invading enemies.
Crystal shards drop randomly during this event, and can be collected to later 
be changed for questpoints, xp, and quest items.

Also New:
Three high level areas have just opened, one of which is based off the Fifth 
Element movie.
There have also been various area updates:
The low level Neo-Chicago zone has been fixed up, with new quests and 
equipments available.
The terminator area has been expanded, with various high level items added and 
new fames to be had.

Coming soon:
Player housing that saves all your equipments and decorations, player owned 
shops and gangs, vehicles complete with GPS systems, and crafting.

Swamp has much better handling for me- mouse and all, not to mention sounds.
While it's not really fair to compare the two games...it's hard not to do.
If you like PvP, I guess Road's okay since it's one of the few in that 
catagory, but if you like shooting games...it still needs lots of work to 
make it on par with SOD or Swamp in my opinion.
The bleeps get a bit annoying after awhile. There's no specs on what gun 
does what. The directional control is confusing as heck if you don't have 
very good hearing.
Also dies too easily when you're just learning the game- it needs a practice 
mode when you can at least learn to aim and navigate.

Also some of those background machine sounds are way too loud.
Over all, after 2 hours of play, I feel it's a so-so game with alot of 
growing protentials and maybe lots of replay value for those who like player 
killing.

Heh, to me the one that should give the most xp should be the browning 
satori- it takes so much skill to pull off properly without dying lol.
I can't think of another weapon that's as hard to muster as that one- loud, 
needs contant reload, short range, and not overly damaging.

heh, I loved swamp so much I bought me a pistol mouse just for this game, 
and that just made the game all that much more enjoyable cause now I get the 
feel of a real...well, almost real...pistol in my hand.

I wish this thing recoils when I fire though rofl.
