Hi,

I agree. There is nothing wrong by saying Marry Christmas.

Furthermore, you are not required to celebrate Christmas, that is entirely
your own decision, but saying Mary Christmas is a sign of respect in my
opinion.

Hi Bryan,

I agree with you on this point. The thing is, Bryan, when they say christmas
events, they do not mean Lets go to the church and prey to Jesus! All they
want is a bit of fun time.

I, myself, being a muslem, have know problem with this. So I do not really
see why the parents should simply complain about it.

And one more thing. Like you said, if there is one kid which is a muslem,
the whole event should not be canseled. If the child could not attend, why
should the event be canseled?

Like I said I think it's because of the religion angle. The really sad
part is that if there's one Muslim kid in the school and said school plans

event cancelled rather than just not having their child attend the event.
I've heard a disturbing number of stories about things like that,

Re: [Audyssey] Merry Christmas

2011-12-26 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Bryan,

Yeah, I've heard of that kind of thing happening more and more often.
I think the powers that be forget our constitution was set up with
religious freedom in mind. They are so focused on being politically
correct these days that they ban or discourage things like Christmas
events, have students sing We Wish You a Happy Holiday instead of
We Wish You a Marry Christmas, calling a Christmas Tree a Holiday
Tree, and other examples of trying to be too politically correct. I
have no problem with people worshipping a different religion, support
them out of respect, but when a government official steps in and says
this or that holiday event, holiday song, etc is too religious or
whatever they are way out of line, because that's a constitutional
freedom of choice they can't or shouldn't have any say over.

Cheers!

Re: [Audyssey] Merry Christmas

2011-12-26 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Bryan,

Sad but true. My son is in the first grade and I have to say the
public schools have gone way over board with the politically correct
crap. He can't call a Christmas Tree a Christmas Tree. No, they refer
to it as a Holiday Tree. When he meets another student, regardless of
his/her religion, he must say happy holiday. Music class consists of
non religious songs like Jingle Bells, Jingle Bell Rock,
Walking in a Winter Wonder Land, or something like that. Obviously,
something like Silent Night, Joy to the World, or Oh Holy Night is
absolutely out of the question. It has gotten to the point if the
school is 99% Christian and there is one student with a different
religion the school tries to make the holiday events as secular and
non-religious as possible in order to keep from offending the student
or his/her parents.

As a Constitutionalist I really don't like where we are going with the
politically correct crap, because what the schools essentially are
doing is revoking the students first amendment rights of freedom of
speech, freedom of religion, and freedom of peaceful assembly all to
make the school look good in the eyes of the non-Christian students
and parents. Meanwhile the students who slip up and say merry
Christmas will get a stern talking to, and are told using merry
Christmas instead of happy holiday is disrespectful rather than a
first amendment right. What a screwed up world we live in these days.

Cheers!

Re: [Audyssey] Merry Christmas

2011-12-26 Thread Thomas Ward
HI Dark,

Yeah, that's my feeling as well over the debate of merry Christmas
verses happy holidays. It is not just that it infringes upon a
person's first amendment rights, but it also strips them of their
individuality. One of the things we should be learning is tolerance
towards others and how to respect other peoples religious views etc as
they are instead of molding them into identical robots. The
politically correct crowd expect everyone to adopt a universal secular
view of the holidays and any sign of individuality is unacceptable.
That to me is more offensive because it doesn't allow people to share
their thoughts, views, and holidays with others regardless of if it is
Christianity, Islam, Judaism,or Wicca. It is as you say as though
none of them are important enough to mention by name.

What really gets me is having studied various religions myself I've
come to see certain themes or beliefs that appear to be universal
among the major religions of the world. While they might not be exact
its the kind of friendly debate that should happen among people to see
where they agree and where they don't.

For example, Something like the Five Pillars of Islam is actually
something that people of all religions embrace in one form or another.
Love God with all your heart, love your neighbor and do unto him/her
as you'd have them do unto you, pray without sea sing, etc. Its the
foundational teachings of Islam and both Christians and Jews would
agree with those principles. While Islam does not accept Jesus Christ
as the son of God they do consider him a prophet and many of the
fundamental teachings from the new testament appear in the Koran too.
So why are political extremists so eager to wipe out peoples
individual views instead of discussing them openly?

Cheers!

We generally use phrases like 'happy holidays' and 'year end event'
instead of 'chrismas' on Alter Aeon. The reason why is simple:
because people suck.

As a developer, it's simply easier to make events generic than deal
with the various groups offended people. It takes thirty seconds to
think up a generic name. It can take hours to calm down angry players
and put out flamewars.

It happens way, way more often than you might think.

as you'd have them do unto you, pray without sea sing, etc. Its the
foundational teachings of Islam and both Christians and Jews would
agree with those principles. While Islam does not accept Jesus Christ
as the son of God they do consider him a prophet and many of the
fundamental teachings from the new testament appear in the Koran too.
So why are political extremists so eager to wipe out peoples
individual views instead of discussing them openly?

Cheers!

Its the

Hello Thomas,

Yes, I follow the earth-based beliefs. I am a shamanic pagan, having converted
from catholic christianity in 1984.

I immigrated to New Zealand about three years ago. Here we do not have official
freedom of religion, so there is actually significantly more freedom of
religious expression here compared with what I experienced back in the states.
There appears to be much more tolerance of belief differences here. I believe
this is partly do to the treaty between the English and the Maori (I know how
to say the treaty name, but don't know how to spell it).

I consider myself to be a warrior healer, and follow an elemental path.

Happy solstice to you. As list moderators we don't know everyone
individually, do not know the religious practices of our list members,

Hi Dark,

I know the feeling. I'm something of a universalist myself, study
religious texts regardless of the religion in question and some of the
people I know find me, well, a bit eccentric because I haven't settled
on any specific religion. Each claim to be the one true religion,
that their values or beliefs are somehow more superior to the rest,
but I don't see it that way as I see both good and bad in all of the
religions I've studied. I guess that is the difference between
philosophers like you and I and someone who has adopted a religion.

Cheers!

Cheers!

Re: [Audyssey] Merry Christmas

2011-12-25 Thread dark

Hi Tom.

well it's quite fun on those rather silly governmental forms that ask
religion I can put all of the above
though in fairness that's much guide, sinse I also insist on writing my race
as caucasian Keltic sinse I refuse to be called white (chalk is white, flour
is white, I am sort of a creamy bage colour).

Anyway leaving hthat aside I deffinately agree on the religious point.

A rather nice Hindu proverb says that God is like the moon, is so large that
he/she/it can be seen by people who might be thousands of miles distant.

This is of course not saying that every religion is right, that would be
both stupid and also potentially dangerous, just that there are some amazing
comonalities and beliefs in goodness, just as unfortunately every single
religion has had it's zealots or crusades.

I'd actually say that the route of all evil isn't money, or even the love of
money, but human's ability to form groups. Stick five people on a desert
island and they'd be fine. However stick four on an island, then stick a
fifth on two days later and guess who'd be for dinner :D.

this is als why I do not believe in nationalism and reffuse to stand for my
country's national anthem, but before this gets too political or ethical I'd
probably better stop.

Hello Thomas,

Thanks, I thanked Dark because he said something without knowing that, or even

their special days is all that matters. When a person is comfortably in said
religion, that person tends to not notice those who are on the outside, but
expects those on the outside to notice said person's religious beliefs /

Like I said I think it's because of the religion angle. The really sad part
is that if there's one Muslim kid in the school and said school plans a
Christmas event, that Muslim kid's parents can complain and get the event
cancelled rather than just not having their child attend the event. I've
heard a disturbing number of stories about things like that, particularly in

Hello everyone.

On behalf of the Audyssey moderators and USA Games Interactive I'd like to
wish all of you a very merry Christmas and a happy holiday for you and your
families.

For us the Christmas holiday has already started and we are having a little
Christmas Eve party with baked ham, candied yams, mashed potatoes, a side
salad, and fresh baked rolls. The pies and cookies are on their way. So
wherever you are we wish you the very best for you and yours.

Cheers!

To, [EMAIL PROTECTED]

You mention that the price for packman talks is currently two bunches of
Cherries, however I'm slightly confused about this offer and have some
questions.

Firstly, do you accept only cherries from the ghost maze region of
cybersspace? And if so, would you accept any alternative ghost maze currency
such as bananas, dots, or super power pills.
2: my paypal account does not currently support currency conversion from
pounds to cherries, therefore would you accept payment in the alternative
currencies mentioned above?

4: I think expressing gallions as a single payment method is incredibly
unfair of you, given the current state of financial unrest and goblin
irritation existing at Gringots wizarding bank. Are you aware that for
anyone to convert pounds to gallions requires having a probety probe stuck
up the, well you can guess, not to mention possibly having a dragon set
loose on them. I think your insistance on gallions is incredibly
unreasonable given this circumstance.

While I would love to take advantage of your special offers, I'm afraid
unless you accept alternative payment methods I will not be able to, and you
may expect formal complaints procedures including a howler, and/or a litle
yellow man turning up threatening to eat you.

Yours sincerely,

Re: [Audyssey] Merry Christmas Disclaimer from PCS Games

2008-12-02 Thread Phil Vlasak

Hi Charles,
There are two balls available,
The inflatable one is designed to be thrown at your space bar on your
keyboard while playing the computer game.
The difficulty level can be adjusted by the distance you stand away from
your keyboard.
The real bowling ball is an exclusive invention of PCS Games and contains a
GPS receiver that is calibrated with the exact GPS position of each pin on a
regulation bowling alley.
Once calibrated all you need to do is program in the preferred destination
on the remote control then throw the ball in the general direction of the
pins.
The ball will move in the direction of the destination location, hopefully
with enough speed to knock the pin down.
You can vary the hook on the ball by throwing the ball from different
locations on the line.

Patent pending.

Hi Charles,
There are two balls available,
The inflatable one is designed to be thrown at your space bar on your
keyboard while playing the computer game.
The difficulty level can be adjusted by the distance you stand away from
your keyboard.
The real bowling ball is an exclusive invention of PCS Games and contains
a GPS receiver that is calibrated with the exact GPS position of each pin
on a regulation bowling alley.

I'd like more info about the bowling ball that comes with Tenpin Alley.
Make, model, weight, composition and construction, and, is custom
drilling included?
