Re: [Audyssey] playing aardwolf?

2015-03-22 Thread Ian McNamara
I had a brief go at this mud and quite liked it. As Sarah said the newbie
Academy was really good and like doing a quest. another three muds i’ve liked
in the past were new worlds mud, they are very helpful to blind players and if
you tel them when you signed up that your blind they will turn on the blind
features for your character. I like this mud especially with the fishing and
stuff you can do. another good mud i enjoyed was madievia I like this because
the weather and stuff can change and you get experience just for being in
groups. The other one I like is armageddon this is a role-play inforced mud
where you have to be approved before your character is accepted. it involves
writing compehensive backgrounds and descriptions for your character. I can’t
remember the connection info for any of them as it’s a long time since I
played. I also like avalon and first age but i found them really hard to get in
to properly.

Re: [Audyssey] playing aardwolf?

2015-03-21 Thread Sarah Haake

Hi,

I'm playing Aardwolf for several years now and really like it.
It's easy to get around and finding the area you want, because the game
has built in speedwalks. The newbie zone is one of the best I've ever
seen, the whole newbie academy is a rather involved quest in itself.

Yes, there are these quests where you go to a questmaster and get a mob
you have to kill for quest points, but there are other quests as well.
These others are called goals and are area quests, where you start it
and even get a quest log with tasks to complete for the goal. These
goals are quite more involved than the killing type and can be rather
difficult. I got stuck for while myself on two of these already, but
there was a reasonable solution all the time, I just didn't see it. Lol.

What everyone should know is that the areas in this mud are not all
stricktly fantasy. There are all sorts of areas, including Sci-Fi themed
ones and outright crazy or funny ones, but that's what I like about this
game.

Best regards
Sarah

I started playing this mud about 2 years ago. I was a pen and paper

combat and magic. plus, quests were given but if you didn't know -
where in general terms where to go, the only player race to take was
the Wolfen class with the innate tracking ability. Yes, other classes
could learn the tracking skill, but you'd have to level a bit before
that skill was available. Plus, I didn't find the people very

Re: [Audyssey] playing aardwolf?

2015-03-21 Thread dark
I've played empire briefly, you can build buildings, roads, harvest plants
and such. My problem however is that it was nearly impossible to find any
space to setup my empire away from other players and I didn't want to join
someone else's sinse I wanted the fun of building from scratch, but wherever
I wandered on the map I couldn't find a place that wasn't already claimed.

I also suspect rather like wayfar1444, once you have done the build phase
the game becomes less fun, where as Clok is all about being out in the
wilderness.

I'll certainly be back on Clok myself in the future, however I'd had a bad
case of the flue for the past few days so haven't really felt like playing
anything at all.

All the best,

Dark.

here is a link for empire mud.
I use mush client with mush reader output functions mcs audio plugins to
make it more accessible with NVDA. there are some unlabeled buttons in

[Audyssey] playing aardwolf?

2015-03-20 Thread Josh K

hi
when playing aardwolf since there are no sounds should i turn off the
speak typed characters and speak typed words in NVDA, and also turn off
speech interrupt when hitting enter that way when i hit enter it doesn't
interrupt what is currently going on in the MUD?
I set up mushClient with the mush reader, output notepad, and one or two
others. so now it reads with NVDA. and I also got the custom mush-z
alter aeon client installed as well. I tried the lord of the rings two
towers mud but it doesn't seem very accessible. It doesn't always ask
for my username and password and I have to guess at what it is or may be
asking. also do any of you play the empire mud where you make your own
empire and craft stuff?
