Re: [Audyssey] Tombhunter and Linux

2010-11-08 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Damien,

Yes, it should work with Vinux 4 in a virtual machine, but as the
documentation says you really do need the SFML deb packages. You can
download the 32bit packages from here:
http://www.usagamesinteractive.com/downloads/requirements/libsfml-1.6-i386.tar.gz
and those packages will work with Ubuntu 10.04, Ubuntu 10.10, Vinux
3.0, and Vinux 4.0.

If you need 64bit versions let me know as I have those as well but
still need to finish updating my website to get all these dependencies
up and ready for download.

Again, it might be me. I'm not very clued up on Linux and am just starting
out. I thought I may be able to practice and learn through installing and
playing Tombhunter that way, but even that didn't work.
 Any help appreciated.
 Thanks.

Hi Thomas,
I did attempt to install the SFML libraries but it informed me there was
some sort of version incompatibility issue.

Hi Tom,
As I am new to Linux I'm not sure how to send you the exact message.
However, it does involve libraries such as libsndfile and libopenal which it
says are not installed. how would i go about installing these libraries?

Thanks.

Re: [Audyssey] Tombhunter and Linux

2010-11-08 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Damien,

If you are installing via terminal you can just copy and paiste the
contents of the terminal into a gedit text document or into an e-mail.
Then, send me a copy of the error message that way.

Anyway, if it is giving you errors about dependencies you need to use
the apt-get utility to fetch and install the packages. For example,
sudo apt-get install libsndfile1
will install libsndfile for you. Doing something like
sudo apt-get install libopenal1
should grab and install the latest OpenAL libraries for you.
